Oh I agree. Definite hypocrisy on show in charging him in the first instance . At the same time he can have little argument since he admitted his guilt.

Didn't Rooney get a two game ban for swearing at the camera? Whilst the FA are often at fault it seems just as often people criticising them don't consider all the evidence either.

Suarez deserved his ban within the parameters that are usually used in such cases (annoying as they are in many cases).

Suarez is no angel and has been guilty of some stupid behaviour, at Liverpool and Ajax. We can't pretend he is always innocent.

He absolutely deserved this ban.

The problem people have is the lack of consistency from the FA regarding other players doing this very thing. Maybe they have now decided to crack down on this sort of thing so I expect United to be getting fines every other week when they surround a ref and any other player flipping the bird getting a 1 match ban.

I've got no qualms with any of the bans if hes guilty but he must not be treated any differently than other players

IF any other players does a subsequent gesutre they should face the same punishment

Equally I expect that irrespective of the court case Terry should face a similar 8 game ban for his abuse of Anton Ferdinand

I don't think anyone is saying the punishment for the finger is wrong merely that 3 other high profile players have been caught on camera doing the very same gesture and had no action taken. Probably because they are all English and represent the national team.
