Even if Suarez is found not guilty due to lack of evidence or because what he said is acceptable in his own culture should not hide the fact that he needs to be made aware of European Culture. Evra heard him say something 10 times or more, it wasn't a compliment whatever Suarez said. Send him on a real "How to insult without getting in the ****" course.
The Germans when they really want to upset Brits call us "Insel Affe" (Island Apes) it devastates me and reduces me to tears, people can be so hurtful.
When used against a Soldier in a nightclub, the response tends to be a broken nose for the German, horses for courses, you call me names, I break your nose.
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Completely disagree with this. Racism is all about the intent, putting someone down/winding them up because of their race. If you're not aware you're doing this, then you're not actually being racist. You might be saying something offensive, but due to ignorance, not bigotry.
So if you plead ignorance you are innocent. I dont think so some how. People are educated enough nowadays to know what attitudes are acceptable.

Not being PC, i would have though "Who won the ****in war then" would have sufficed a a retort
Are you kidding? Do you live in Australia/have you ever.
I think its over the top to be making statements like that and in my whole life (all spent here) I have never heard a single person from Asia called a WOG
The word WOG (western orientated gentlement) was used as a racial slur to Italian's and sometimes Greeks when my family migrated here around the 70's (My whole family is Italian born) but the word has changed now to simply signify people from the area with generally no racial connotations.
Having said that, the older generation don't like it to be used.
But never ever was it used as a racist slur towards Asians.
Please don't come here and post stuff which is pure bull**** about Racism and Australian's, there are plenty of stereotypes about Australian culture as it is...
Eh? So in your book it's ok to use a derogatory word if it's not directed at a person and it would be ok to say things like a P*** shop or a N***** house?
Its not my book, its what seems is acceptable. Regarding, the other words - they are so racially charged that I can't see them ever being used as anything other than racial insults.

Are you sure your family weren't called 'wops'? That was a common English term for Italians in the past.
In Britain 'wogs' was definitely a term for people from the Indian sub-continent so I'd be surprised if it had changed meaning in Australia but it's far from impossible of course.
But then differences in meaning is what a lot of this thread is about.

Whatever, I don't see there's any need to use the term. Why not call it what it is, a Chinese meal or a Chinese restaurant.
