Every tackle is dangerous if the other play decides to put his leg in a certain place. People get injured in the most innocuous tackles, but by definition, they must have been dangerous because someone got injured. Just saying 'it's dangerous' is not the measure of a foul.

Those situations (two players coming in at that angle with the ball between them) are always likely to end in a collision, it's a 50-50 ball, which Spearing wins, IMO he only makes contact with Dembelle as he loses his balance. It's not a two footed challenge as is being suggested, and IMO it isn't a red card. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

everything has prob been covered to death already but here we go.
Dempsey is very lucky that he squared up to bellamy who will fight anyone - 90% of the players in the league would have gone down or at least pulled away holding their face following his antics were he was very very close to butting bellamy - he could easily have been sent off, and it's only because bellamy stood his ground that he stayed on.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Listen the most important measure is when Gary Neville (the self confessed scouser hater) says it was a borderline redOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostThose situations (two players coming in at that angle with the ball between them) are always likely to end in a collision, it's a 50-50 ball, which Spearing wins, IMO he only makes contact with Dembelle as he loses his balance. That tells you it should have been a yellow card all day long

Even the Fulham players barely raised a hand at it which says it all really unless they all just hate Dembele and were glad he got clattered. We probably wont win any appeal, not because the decision was right but because of the state this game is in.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostTwo footed and leaves the ground with studs showing. It's a red card boys.
Funnily enough from the same FA who are trying to get Rooney's ban shortened for kicking someone from behind.

Fair enough, but you get my point. I'm sure you can come up with some examples of dangerous challenges without any malice involved.Originally posted by Lecter View PostYou see I actually didnt think Shawcross's challenge was a bad one
Its a ****ing mans game (well it use to be)
The game is being ruined by over-zealous officiating gone mad
Yeah, it used to be extremely rough - I watched an old match on ITV from the mid 80's and some of the challenges were absolutely brutal. But football just isn't like that anymore. Jay knows the rules - he's not some ancient player struggling to adapt to this 'over-zealous officiating' - it's pretty much been this way for as long as he's been playing.K ris90210

IF that was a red card (and the ref is using the letter of the law) then Dempsey should have gone as well for puting his head in Bellamy's face
How the hell Bellamy could get a yellow card (the same as Dempseys) for his part in those handbags I'll never know
Also how Senderos can be booked for the Adam tackle yet get off with the Carroll rugby tackle is beyond belief
That is the worst refereeing performance I have seen for sometime (and that is saying something!!!))
It was a shocking performance from the ref. Completely inconsistent and got pretty much every big call wrong. What chance do you stand when you're up against that? **** all.

Spearing won the ball, his eyes were clearly on the ball and he he got clean contact with the ball. IMO there is no way he can help his momentum after the challenge is made, sure look at the way his body turned ffs. Looking at the pics it looks terrible but those pics are incredible selective and don't tell the full story.
I'm not one for making excuses and focusing on them when we didn't play great but that ref put in an absolutely appalling display, a genuine shocker he had.

It's one of those that look worse than they are, which makes it difficult for the referee.Originally posted by danperkins View PostSpearing won the ball, his eyes were clearly on the ball and he he got clean contact with the ball. I was surprised the Fulham players didn't make more of a deal of it. If the exact same thing happened to one of our players at Anfield, the team would have been all over it and you know it.Originally posted by Chris View PostEven the Fulham players barely raised a hand at it which says it all really unless they all just hate Dembele and were glad he got clattered.
