If Jay is not ready i would expect to see 3 CBs at the back and really hope Bellamy starts as he has been our only goal threat lately.

Getting good result and good performance would go long way in helping us bounce back after Bolton's screw up.

He's got you there the Birdman has Gingawaria - Surprised you whilst Arguing Fletcher's case? Seem to have Completely forgotten that when He was Jay's age? He got nothing But Dog's abuse from the United fans, Near Constant demands to sell him from The OT Crowd & even accusations of Scottish based favoritism were launched at Ferguson for keeping Fletcher in the team in the face of a constant barrage of complaints about him so by That measurement? The point I think you're trying to make having read your post a few times now is that you are indeed ****ing mental and have no idea about anything.

Spearing better than Cattermole and McCarthy?? an equal of Henderson??
Henderson was captain of the U21's and a full international, Cattermole captained the U21's, McCarthy a full international. Jay? hasn't got near our squad on a regular basis let alone international honours.
Fletcher is 4 years older than Jay and has played 180 games more in a much, much better side than ours.
For most of the last 12 months Fletcher has been out with his ilness otherwise he would have played 30-40 more games again.

Man U have won the most over the last 10 years or so, like it or not they are the team everyone is trying to beat, Spearing wouldn't get near their squad whereas a fully fit Fletcher would improve ours.

Your point is a bit bizarre, theres 1000s of other players out there so chances are I wouldnt buy anyone in our squad apart from Suarez. Doesn't mean he's not a decent player though, he quite clearly is.

You've put me in the position of Liverpool manager and are asking me about my transfer policy! I appreciate you rate me that highly but I dont think I'm on the clubs radar for the future. For the record, I wouldnt sign Agger, Reina, Johnson or Gerrard either for different reasons, should none of them start again for the club?

It's about the here and now, he's a good player and should start if he's fit whether I'd pay 500k or £30m for him is irrelevant.

How it will happen i don't know. But it would just be typical liverpool - big atmosphere, players fired up after a bollocking, and someone, somewhere, doing something heroic - could be a defender blocking everything, reina making saves or some producing something out of nothing at the other end..

best we can hope for

Big issues for me are Bellamy/Spearing - without them two, we lack pace or a threat in attack and we lack any fight/steel in the midfield.

I'd be tempted to put Carragher into the back four and play Agger as a holding player, rather than go with 3 centrebacks

Do you think Downing might work in CM? This is more a musing than a suggestion. Was just going through all the options and it was one that was intriguing. I'd guess he would have more positional discipline than Adam or Gerrard. The downsides are fairly obvious but he did okay in the middle for Villa by all accounts when asked to.

If we are going to go all Everton about it I think Carragher would be a better Phil Neville than Agger. I would be inclined to leave Agger at centreback no matter what. I think the deeper position can be useful for him in terms of time to distribute.
