Meanwhile, our displaced son Coates got subbed off at HT against Stoke yesterday, although after reading some of the comments it appears he wasn't that bad. His first competitive game in a long time.

I thought they played 3 at the back, so it's possible that he was the left-sided CB, but I'm not sure I can't imagine him having a decent game at left back though

I just watched 4 minutes od Andre Wisdom playing it safe... He's really good defensively but he does nothing in the opposition half. Should be playing CB or he'll most likely end up in the Championship.

I watched 10 minutes of Ilori's game, he looked pretty comfortable and put the after burners on once to out sprint an opposing attacker. From all the times I've see him, I don't think he's any worse than the CB's we've held on to.

There is no point having him on the bench as he wouldn't play much with us this season bar some serious injuires.

He is better off playing hopefully regular football at fairly decent team in decent league.

Next year after Kolo is gone he may have chance to come back and be part of the squad.
