Adam was never brought in to the be the starter and problem is htat injuries to Lucas and Stevie made him play much more than he should have.

People keep forgeting what type of squad we had last year and he is an improvement and even though he hasn't played well lately imo doesn't deserve to get so much stick.

I was thinking of Poulsen in that context. Raul hasn't really been used in the same way as Adam though.

Poulsen isn't a fair comparison. He was supposed to be a defensive midfielder. Under no circumstances could you dsay Charlie Adam is that.

Meireles is the nearest comparison, and Adam is not as good a footballer as Meireles.

FPL award assists if a player is fouled and the resulting set-piece is scored. Would anyone else consider these as assists and are they widely accepted as that or just in this game?

Seeing as we haven’t scored too many of either, I doubt Adam has benefited anyway.

It is just FPL, I don't think others accept that. it is quite a disparity between Adam's assists between them and ESPN.

It seems whenever we're playing better teams he's in the starting 11, which could do something to do with the stat, alas we seem to have more problems putting away lesser teams. Regardless Adam is highly flawed and I don't think he should be in the squad.

The stat includes cup games and he didn't start against United, Chelsea and City which we obviously won. He didn't start against United in the league either although we lost, but we put in a great performance against Everton without him.

Liverpool could be without Charlie Adam for the rest of the season if he requires an operation on the injury that saw him limp off early during Wednesday’s 3-2 defeat to QPR at Loftus Road.

Adam suffered knee ligament damage towards the end of the first half, and on Friday saw a specialist in London, according to Saturday’s Telegraph.

Adam will be out of action for at least a month, and if an operation is needed, is only likely to return to action in pre-season this summer.

The Telegraph notes that Adam’s absence from the first team could give youngster Raheem Sterling a chance at the big time.
