I'm sure Whelan will tell us tomorrow
Figures of 3 to 5 million have been mentioned.

The fact Martinez hasn't said anything to big gob suggests he's holding onto something, even with Rodgers being effectively head hunted.

No. We've been to two cup finals this season so I expect at least the same plus a 4th place finish. I expect fsg to aim to as much. Realistic no?
      Are we winning?

For example, we finish 6th with 60 points? How is that an improvement? You are either in or out of the Champions league ... We have already qualified for the Europa League this season, on 2 accounts (by winning the League Cup and being in the FA Cup final) ... So, the question is: Do we sack our next manager, if he fails to qualify for the Champions League next season?

Well it is plenty more points and a stronger challenge and it would be a clear step forward.

Finishing 4th would be a massive improvement and a successful season. Cups really aren't that important.

Yes they are. They are trophies. If we prioritise then that's something else. It means we aim at playing less competitve games. When you take the big picture and try to compete in all competitions, perform well in two and do less well in the other than it does bring perspective to things.

We've been poor in the league for the last three seasons (under three different managers). We must give the new manager time - irrespective of our league position (or the amount of money spent by the manager/technical director/DOF) next season. We should look for improvement over three or four years (not 12 months).
                  Another MASSIVE game

                    No.

You sound like a reactionary 606 dogturd. Really.

                    You're missing the point entirely.

Nobody can rely on winning cups. Impossible. The league is the bread and butter. The true barometer.

Long term planning innit. Something you seem to struggle to understand.

The aim for next season has to be top 4. If there are massive signs of improvement but we miss out, then stick by it, no?
                    Oh I don't know.

They are if you dont finish 4th or higher every season..

Although I'm sure Arsenal fans might disagree by now..

Challenge for what? We will still be in the Europa League, at least 10 points from the CL places ... It seems that you still don't understand the implications of the FSG's decision to sack Kenny ... No new LFC manager will survive the failure to qualify for the CL next season, especially since Rafa is available at the moment and willing to take the job ... The precedent has already been set, and there is no turning back ...

I agree. I'd like to see an improvement each year, if we finished 6th or above next year then that would be acceptable. Realistically I'd like to see us back in the top four within three seasons. I want us to play some good football and restore some pride. We've been largely **** for a few years, we need to start building towards being great again.

I'm not missing the point nor am I being a reactionary dogturd. We should aim to do well in all competitions, not just the league.

Of course it is ... We have hit the woodwork 33 times and missed 5 penalties in the league this season ... If only 4 of those 38 went in, we would have finished on 60 points ... So, how is finishing 6th on 60 points a realistic improvement? No CL money, no ability to attract top players ... Everything will be the same as today ...

Really? Wouldn't that be season dependent? In what way would it not be an improvement exactly.

You are a nonsensical drama queen.
