bit harsh... it is depressing how our expectations have fallen, especially in the last 2 or 3 years - I remember when just winning the league that year was considered a relatively poor season - now we're praying for a top four finish.

While I share everyone's concerns about Martinez, he's duty bound IMO to inform his employer about what's happening, especially when contracts are involved.
The fact that Whelan is a an attention seeking knob-jockey is hardly Martinez' fault. Bit more discretion maybe.

only if we've actually offered him a contract. he's not duty bound to disclose the level of detail whelan is spitting out. what's wrong with 'we've had one set of discussions, no contract and meeting again on tue'
