It bodes well for the future. The longer they play together & get used to the league the more exciting it looks.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Amazing how Ekitike seems to be just as good as Wirtz for touches, flicks, smart passes with a bit of vision. We'll never hang onto him. He'll go to Spain or PSG.

A 442 will still give us two wider players to play as winger when attacking, but will also give us a bit more resilience in the middle of the pitch.
        Rush and Beardsley?

Keeps complaining about low blocks but it’s our own fault for being pedestrian in build up. Opposition teams could set up 10 different low block formations by the time we get anywhere near their box, when was the last time we seen great counter attacking football playing rapidly through the lines, remember that football that was nice to watch win lose or draw…. Are we really going to limp through the season like this? What is the advantage to delaying the inevitable?

We should close this thread until someone actually works out what our style of play is. No point having a topic for something that doesn't exist.

              There is no style.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we lose or next two games, and that’s on Hughes et al imo, fool me once…

Is he?...haven't come across an article saying so yet.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

First time we’ve gone 3-0 up on 52 games since we beat Spurs 3-0 in the League Cup last season.

Also we’ve now gone 6 games since we conceded from a set piece since we binned the set piece coach.

Ha that last stat would be painful for poor Aaron Briggs, though I still think he took the hit for everyone above him

I can't agree with that. Whatever he was doing wasn't working and he had to be held accountable. Whether he should have been in another role or not is another matter. I'm assuming he had the choice to move to set pieces from individual development and chose to step up.

I think we need to get Wirtz, Ekitike, Jones, Szlob and Frimpong on the pitch, at the same time, as often as possible. Maybe throw Kerkez into that mix as well. That's off the ball movement, pressing and creative passing where they are all on the same sort of wavelength.

don't get me wrong, he was accountable as he was the set piece director, my issue is that's not the only reason we are poor from set pieces
