The game totally changed (favourably for us) when he was subbed and Firmino slotted in centrally. Added to his suspect injury record I just don't see how he fits in long-term.

I think he needs a bit more time before we judge him this season. Strikers go through periods and to be fair to Studge, it's probably his first spell with his when he's not been consistently scoring, so talks of him being finished are way off.
      Are we winning?

Where does he fit? Cup games and that's it really as a starter. The current preferred quartet are unlikely to broken up unless it's forced - even if one of them goes "cold" the other three can pick up the slack whereas introducing an actual striker (and one that's now slowish) creates a fundamental discombobulation.

I think it should be noted that he's not injured himself yet, even from England duty!

He effectively has to reinvent himself and that's no easy thing to do. I'm not 100% convinced he'll get the opportunity to do that here as we require pressing from every player and that's just not Sturridge's style.

What we need is the new Ian Rush (pressing + goal scoring). Suarez would be nice

Think potentially jumping the gun with the doom.

We were **** collectively until coutinho got further up the pitch.

Then it was less about getting in behind and more about the awesome one touch stuff that Sturridge is very good at.

no doubt he will still have his moments and we will all have to reconsider his appointment at the abattoir but they will not be as often and we have probably seen the best from him.

a sensible option would be to move him on while we can get a decent fee for him.
hopefully ings will come to the rescue

I dont think Klopp will ever get the best out of Sturridge imo. He left City & Chelsea as he was better than there reserve team at the time and he was correct. Time moves on and he is not the player he was, Think he needs to be loved again as the main man.

He has proved how good he is when a team plays to his strengths, But his strengths seem to be on the wane and our high energy, pressing game has never been his forte anyway.

COuld see Arsenal trying in January if not I imagine West Ham or similar will be in for him.

                  Too many writing him off.

He's had a disjointed season so far in terms of playing time and that's not helping his form. He'll need to get used to not starting every game but being ready when he does.

But he showed against Leicester that he is very capable of playing in Klopp's team.

I think Leicester City helped him, they help everyone at the moment in the Prem.

Well they didn't do his running and pressing for him.

He's a cracking striker and one of the best finishers in the league just seems to be really struggled with the way Klopp wants him to play. Short of him completely changing the way he plays, I can't see him lasting past the summer because he certainly won't take a regular spot on the bench ... he is way too good for that.

Tough spot for him to be in & real shame that he is struggling to adapt. What an asset he would be if he could adapt.

Just doesn't quite suit the way we play does he? I think he'd do better elsewhere sadly. I can't see him ever playing to his full potential (massive) under Klopp. We'd be better off getting a big fee (hopefully) and spending it on someone more mobile.
