Yeah sure you did mate. That's like turning down Kelly brook to stay with Susan Boyle.

Almost Wenger like in that assessment! Horror of a tackle seeing it again, right through the back of his knee.

I fancy after yesterdays display we're going to see Flanagan get an extended run at LB for us, thought he had a really good game.

It's really annoying that referees are the main talking point after matches, there isn't a decision to make - it's a straight red card. What effect that would have had on the match is debatable, no doubt Everton would have reorganised and it would have been a completely different game.

          Flanno.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Horrible snide challenge that. The cunt knew Suarez was limping anyway as he had been for a few minutes and he saw a chance to finish him off and tried to IMO. Like I said horrible gob****e club from top to bottom. The only one player I would have from that ****hole excuse for a club would be Leighton Baines.

Good point from Schmeichal then - what did Dowd give the yellow card for? If he saw the incident it's a red, if he didn't then what was the yellow card for?

Two decisions we've been robbed by at the pit in two years. **** off under your bridges, you cunts.

But unlike the blue****e we won't go on about them for 40 years like They do over Clive Thomas.

I thought Flannagan held up well under the circumstances, but I didn't think he was quite as good as some people have been making out at all. But then I didn't think Gerrard and Allen were that bad either so **** knows what game I was watching.

I thought he was pretty solid.

Won 8 of 9 attempted tackles, more than our other 3 defenders put together. Also made more interceptions (4) than any our other 3 defenders and his passing was as accurate as any of them.

Under the circumstances, I thought he did pretty well. He's at an age now where he knows first team opportunities will be limited, so that's enough pressure nevermind it being a big derby. He's definitely had more good performances than bad for us, so I'd be happy to see him get an extended run in the side.

He always seem to do better at left back than right back. Certainly no reason why he shouldn't keep his place there for the next game.

                              He's earned another start. Definitely.

There may have been eyebrows raised at Jon Flanagan's inclusion at left-back, particularly after the difficulties he faced in his favoured right-back role at Arsenal, but the 20-year-old produced a tireless, intelligent performance. It moved Steven Gerrard to say: "Our star man for me was Jon Flanagan by a country mile. He doesn't get many headlines but as captain of the team he was the player I am most proud of. I thought he was unbelievable. He's been fighting hard in training just to get in the 18, never mind the starting 11, but the manager threw him in at the deep end against a top-class player like [Kevin] Mirallas and I thought he was sensational. It was one of the best derby performances I have seen for many years. He reminds me of [Jamie] Carragher in a lot of ways. I don't think you would judge Jon in terms of ability or skill, but he is all about heart, desire, determination and fighting for the cause."

What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins
