that weasel Ray Wilkins was on talksport this morning and when Brazil asked him about the LFC game on Wednesday, Wilkins came out with it straight away "well it mightn't go ahead....there is a tube strike here in London" - now to be honest, i got the impression that they would like that to be the case - so they can possibly catch us on the hop some other time (after we play an FA cup game or something like that)

I hope to fock it goes ahead because we are on a high after the 5-1 win and with either United or Arsenal (or better still, both) dropping points, then we can strike while the iron is hot. We want the points on the board asap.....

Looking ahead to the FA Cup game, to be honest I can see us doing them again but if we didn't, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it this year to be honest - the league is what is massive this season....

What's with the banana skin thing? Is every team a potential banana skin or are we just paranoid?

Fulham are bottom of the league and have conceded 55 goals, that's 11 more than Cardiff. No game is a walkover, but you're looking at potentially tricky, banana skin opponents, then look past Fulham. They're ****e. Someone like Villa or Hull are banana skins, teams that can be tricky on their day.

We're so pessimistic on here on the whole. How can these beat us? Someone give me a compelling argument. For every goal our supposedly terrible defence (the 5th best in the league) concedes we should score four more.

          Ha

Only argument is our away record. It's ****. 4 wins from 12 this season.

That said we should destroy them.

I think everyone is just paranoid because we're not used to things going so good

Definitely. That and our dodgy away form.

We've 20 years of near constant knocks. It's hard to get used to things going largely so well. The odd bump obviously but overall it's going laughably well.

I had a bad feeling that we'd lose in the league but beat the in the FA Cup. What the f*ck do I know, they're ****, we'll duff them both times.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

True, but isn't our away record partly **** because we have faced tough teams away, Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, City and Chelsea are all behind us so our away games left should be easier. The opposite can be said about our home games so our true level probably lies somewhere in between....

Definitely. But we've had some bad uns too....Hull, West Brom, Newcastle.

We need to get into the habit of swatting away the weaker teams away. Do that and we'll be genuine contenders.

And for the record for all my overwhelming positivity I'll still be nervous at kick-off on Wednesday (but still confident). There's just so much riding on us getting in the top 4.

                        This.

(that being said, I definitely fall under the "everyone" umbrella)

OK, I'm the resident pessimist but we played Newcastle at a bad time, they had a good run when we played them IIRC, West Brom was a solo **** up and Hull was genuinely a blip and the end for poor Moses.

I'll resort back to form now having said all that, I think we'll lose against Fulham, they'll have their new striker up running and the all team is fired up after the United game.

We're never 'in between'. Jekyll and Hyde...

Despite our form and stats, over the past fourteen months, I'm still expecting everything to go tits up However, it's February and I look forward to EVERY game. I can't wait for Wednesday - I haven't felt like this (about football) for years!

This is really poor build up thread. Probably the worst we've had.
