Clapham takes 75,000 passengers a day apparently. I'd hazard that no more than 2,000 of the crowd will be going south of Wandsworth after the game and most of them will be Reds. It should cope outside of the rush hour traffic.Originally posted by dom9 View PostInteresting.
It's worth noting though that during last week's strike there was a 2 hour queue to get onto the platforms at Clapham Junction. If people are expected to get to the game in other ways, then it increases pressure on those routes.
The Emirates is also better connected than Craven Cottage.

The issue is they can't guarantee that their staff will be able to travel in time, therefore they can't take unnecessary risks. For the FA cup game last week, they could guarantee that their staff would be there because the strike started on the Tuesday at 21:00, so they would be sure that they would have the required numbers. It's different for our match because it's being played on the Wednesday, in the middle of the strike itself. Are we winning?

Irritating to say the least but it would be sensible to postpone

I'm trying to see this one from all sides (club, workers etc) but when it comes down to it it's madness. The game shouldn't be in any doubt. This wave of strikes was announced on Jan 10. Fulham have had a month to come up with a contingency but only put out a statement today.

If the FA released a statement now saying that Fulham have had plenty of time to prepare for this strike and threaten them with a 3 point deduction if they don't play the game you can bet your ass they will get the game on. Clear as ****ing day that they are trying to pull a fast one here. West Ham and Arsenal are also at home with Manc fans also travelling to London. There's nothing about there games potentially being off because of a tube strike.I live in london and last week although the tubes were affected with selected station closures most were running with the worst services being every 10 mins. There is no reason for this game to be cancelled as the tubes will be running albeit with delays (nothing new). Surely the premier league won't allow this based on games being on last week with not 1 delayed kick off or reported issue.
Surely they can't get away with this as it's obvious they don't want 2 games in quick succession.Last edited by Leyton388; 10-02-14, 10:14 PM.
