West Brom made a mini revival there, no doubt finally realising that they were being beat on like common pygmies out there and Nico Williams clears off the line after some good work by the opposition front line. Now it's business as usual again, with us camping outside their box.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

And that's it, the game ended 5-1 to us, hat-trick for Glatzel and 2 for Bobby Duncan. Powerful up front but I really like both the full backs, Larouci and Nico Williams (no relation to Fatty), who contributed massively to the attack but still found time to get back and do their day job when they needed to. But an impressive performance all around the pitch.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Didn't see today's match, but the few clips I've seen from other matches and pre-season, Glatzel looked very good.
They said he had injury problems in the past, so be curious to keep an eye on him this year if he can stay fit.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

i have never seen this mentioned in any other commentary ever before...Originally posted by Venton View PostWell it looked like it was mainly us but West Brom scored whilst I was turning over my sausages. However, Glatzel has just equalised with an accurate shot into the bottom corner. 1-1

Tagseth got injured at the end of last year but he's still there and on the books. Varesanovic has only just arrived I think. Not sure who the other chap is.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostDoes anyone remember Tagseth, Varesanovic and that 16 year-old Finnish CB who was taller than Klavan? Whare are they, shouldn't they be playing for the u-18.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Good win for the U18s away to Stoke on the weekend.
We absolutely peppered them in the first half, loads of shots on target, Longstaff causing mayhem down the left, Duncan running things from midfield. Glatzel missed a sitter after Laroussi left the defender for dead and teed him up for glory but he ballooned it straight up. The striker was otherwise excellent.
Stoke had pretty much one shot on target that was superbly saved by Janos although he would go from a king to knave later on.
Lateon Clarkson scored early in the first half after Kane flicked it behind to Clayton to set him up. Clayton then scored himself with a bullet header from a corner to make it 0-2.
Janos, mind elsewhere no doubt, fluffed a simple clearance and Stoke took full advantage to score despite his best efforts to recover. He looked at his feet in shame, lonely as they come between the sticks. But what's this? He made a triple save late on to deny what looked like a certain Stoke goal after a set piece caused chaos in the box. The whole team took turns to pat his relieved head, a king once more.
Tagseth came on late on to make his first appearance for months after his injury.
Final score Stoke 1-2 Liverpool.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

And the U23s played West Ham at home the day before...
Almost before the toothpaste wore off West Ham go 0-1 up as Reece Oxford meets a floating corner with a firm header into the top right corner under no pressure. Oxford is literally about 2 foot taller than anyone on the pitch but still...
Miller, another one whose hair is clearly cut by him mum (yes, I'm looking at you Chris Kirkland), must have had about 5 clear chances to score. Did brilliant work to get into all these one on ones but can't couldn't get it past the keeper. Probably has Sterling's locker. Virtue's shot was saved by Trott and knocked on to the bar. He then made an unbelievable save from Virtue's header. To be frank, we must have had 10 clear chances in the first half that we should have score, Adam Lewis often at the heart of the moves.
Second half was exactly the same as the first. It's actually flabberghasting that it took as long as it did for Virtue to score in off the post whilst sat on his arse in the penalty area. Then Shandy (yes) Silva hit our post from a thirty yard screamer and we wobbled. Whilst wobbling Oledapo Afolayan scored a cracking free kick to make it 1-2. Nothing the keeper could do about that. Miller accidentally blocked a certain goal on the West Ham line before being hauled off, which pretty much summed up our day.
A story of missed chances on that one - we should have had literally 10 goals but only scored one and lost 1-2. Credit to Nico Williams, Virtue and Miller for good work. 10 points to Miller for getting into the right spot, but a big raspberry for his finishing.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Glatzel shows his incredible joy at coming back from injury and scoring 6 goals so far for the U18s

It's fair to say Liverpool U18s forward Paul Glatzel has caught the eye in Kirkby so far this season.
Six goals in the opening four games of the campaign included a hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion, and the 17-year-old has struck up a promising partnership with new signing Bobby Duncan.
Glatzel, who has battled back from a broken leg and hamstring injuries, was also named captain by U18s boss Barry Lewtas for 2018-19.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad
