He's keeping it simple which is all you can ask. He's capable when he does that. The problem occurs when he starts thinking he's Maldini. Just win the ball, give it to someone else. He put in a great tackle in our box in the first half and came away with the ball. It was brilliant.

It will take a few solid seasons to truly eradicate the memories of some of Lovrens keystone cops meets bambi in ice performances.

But it's a massive step in the right direction. His game has to be about simplicity as soon as he has a chance to think - it's over.

Once Lovren makes a mistakes he cannot recover from it quickly, you can see it plays on his mind. He needs a good start or he suffers.
There was one point today Milner was screaming at him to keep a straight line whilst defending a free kick (just after taking out moreno) and he was in a world of his own.
He has looked better than under Rogers and his reading of the game is good, his heading and intercepting is good. As long as he just gets rid of the ball he will be OK. He can hit a good long pass though.

Very good today, I had him as a contender for man of the match in difficult conditions, long may it continue. Sakho is one of my favourite players but he'll have to work his way back into the team, which is a very good thing, our squad is looking pretty strong at the minute.

Wasn't that long ago that Lucas was the biggest swear word ever, along with Henderson when he first got here. It's just taking much longer for Lovren to settle than expected. As others say, there's a decent footballer in there trying to get out.

I hope the same thing doesn't happen again with Lovren, where he would look decent for a few games, Sakho gets dropped until Lovren has a shocker and Sakho comes back in while we wonder why Sakho didn't walk straight back into the team.
