I thought he had left Spurs cos they wouldn't give him a long contract? Unlikely he would take a season or 2 offer from us.

Think we need experience to help “bring up” Joe but also cos Matip is sadly so injury prone.

I like the idea of promoting someone from the youth setup to replace him as 4th choice but who?

Hoever is probably most likely, but things seem to have gone quiet on him?

One other factor is we're losing some experience in the squad with Lallana and Lovren already gone. I think if the Thiago link is true it's probably partly to address that.

For that reason perhaps we'd still look at an experienced 4th choice CB to help add to that?

Was 4th CB, not good enough to start for us. Best of luck to him elsewhere. I hope we go for a top CB and let Gomez and Matip fight it out.
