I'd hate to see Moreno back at LB while Lovren is still in favour.
Those 2 together as the left side of our defence are diabolical.

I wouldn't be against Moreno getting another chance, as long as it's Sakho at left CB.

But in the meantime, Gomez is doing well there so far and deserves to keep his place.

Both our full backs have provided balance to the team, so it's crucial they stay the same for the moment. Gomez won't play the whole season anyway, don't expect him to for someone so young.

Agreed, we should look to build a solid platform and then become more progressive once we have a well functioning midfield and some 'go to' attacking patterns refined. The last two seasons we have really suffered from being leaky at the back - not sure why as soon as we improve everyone wants to rip up the basis for that.

Over the season there will be plenty of chances for Moreno.

Couldn't agree more. Moreno should only be used as a LM if needed for now with the same back 4 remaining untouched for the foreseeable future.

Hope we stick to a back four tbh, I'd just play Sakho with Lovren and Lucas in front of them. Would probably prefer it to Lovren, Gomez and Can as it is.

Why?

Gomez is not left footed player and his ability to contribute offensively in that position is very limited.

Decision to use Benteke upfront requires fullbacks to go forward and Moreno could do better job in that area than Gomez.

Moreno has been suspect defensively to say at least but I do think he deserves another chance even though pairing him with Lovren is worry, which is one of many reasons why Sakho would be more appropriate choice for a CB imo.
