Lovren looks a shocking signing. it like we have gone back to Brendan's first season. There's no unity in the team, none of the high tempo pressing play from last season. Lucas should have been sold in the summer and the sooner we sign Valdes the better. The Mig needs to go as he's not the keeper we need.

Pretty shocking stuff really. Turned over at Upton Pk - doesn't get much worse than that.
Hard to know where to begin, not going to blame the young full backs, both seem low risk buys with bags of potential. Lovren has lost his head totally, he needs rested and eased back into the team, he's trying too hard, making mistakes and has totally lost composure. I'd play any off Skrtel/Toure/Sakho ahead of him right now.
Mignolet - good shot stopper but lacks any sort of presence. Valdes will at make some noise back there. It is hard to say if the issues actually start at the back.
It all reminds me of Rodgers when he first came in, players don't seem to know their jobs. I even think we miss Joe Allen's work rate and ball retention. The midfield is lacking energy for sure, and shape, Henderson is not playing to the level he was towards the end of last season.
And Sterling - we should play him in hos best position...
Borini - Seems to have zero game intelligence, the law off averages should see him take up a good position, but he just looks out of place in the team.
Mario - signs of promise, has a good touch and is working hard - but I think we will see the best off him when Sturridge comes back and creates space for him.
Too early to say with Lallana - but he has promise.
Lots of work to do, we've been ****e pretty much all season - a hangover from last, possibly - but its not good enough.
We missed a massive opportunity last season, you sense it now - to compete again will take a lot of hard work and luck. The defence needs sorting it is blatantly Rodgers achiles heel, we've been shipping goals for way too long now.
Hmmmm.Modifying post.

We could have signed Alex Song. He's no Pogba but he'd get in our side. Can play a bit as well, so it's not like he's just a donkey you whack in the side just to have a bit of height. Used to the league and whilst he's no Busquetts, he's a very good player. Ridiculous he ended up at West Ham.Originally posted by Tee View PostHindsight etc etc, but we really should have gone all out for Pogba. This team is missing that kind of player.Forwards.......

He has only just got in the West Ham team and there must be a reason he has ended up with them rather than other higher profile teams.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostWe could have signed Alex Song. Wasn't match fit is why he's only just got in their side. He's on loan anyway. Guarantee he ends up at a top side next season. I know he wanted premiership football. City & Chelsea don't need him, Arsenal wouldn't have him. Spurs wanted Morgan instead whilst we are happy with what we have. I think he waited on United but they decided to wait for Strootman in January and have Blind and Herrera to make do until then.Originally posted by Chazza View PostHe has only just got in the West Ham team and there must be a reason he has ended up with them rather than other higher profile teams.Forwards.......

It would help if we played our most talented players. Why the hell was Lallana not playing! How can you leave him on the bench and play people like Lucas and Borini.
Seriously though For £38m I would expect better than what we have seen so far from Lovren and Sakho. When we had all 3 big centre backs on the pitch it was shocking that we didn't even come close to converting a set piece. We need outside help to coach this defence.

Skrtel straight back in - a guy I like and someone who didn't do a great deal wrong - was wrong IMO. We've been average at the back but only let in 2 in 3. He waltzes straight back in, Sakho out, and we're AOTS. Sick of it. We're wank.
And the elephant in the room is Suarez. We're all looking for a deeper reason as to why it's going tits up, all trying to think more deeply and in less simple terms, but the whole "we'll score more than you" ethos falls on its arse when you don't have an absolute genius up front. I'm not saying we wasted the money - far from it - but we miss Suarez so painfully. Not just his goals, or his insanely brilliant play - but his work rate and will to win. It was infectious, he galvanised lads around him and made them all, every ****ing one of them, up their game. And when Sturridge is injured too it's a ****ing nightmare. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
