Clearly not. Sunglasses weather at JLA.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It's been on and off sunshine/battering it down with rain, but it's been horrendously windy too, 30/40 mph winds

Aye, pretty much the same here. Hopefully I touch lucky with a sunny spell when walking the dogs later.

He was some player in his day. Fantastic centre back and a brilliant midfielder before that. Some man for the set pieces as well.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Liverpool FC striker Rickie Lambert desperate to face Real Madrid in bid to kick-start his Anfield career

                          Oct 21, 2014 13:41 By James Pearce

Big frontman has enlisted help of Dr Steve Peters as he seeks first goal for the club

How times have changed for Rickie Lambert.

The last time Liverpool FC faced Real Madrid at Anfield he was in action 120 miles south.

While Rafa Benitez’s side celebrated a stunning 4-0 demolition of the Spanish giants on March 10 2009, Lambert was in less salubrious surroundings.

The big frontman was clutching the matchball after netting a hat-trick for Bristol Rovers in a 3-0 victory over Hereford United in League One in front of 3,199 fans at Edgar Street.

Five and a half years on Lambert hopes to be in the thick of the action as his boyhood club prepare to lock horns with Real once again tomorrow night.

And the 32-year-old is convinced Liverpool are capable of stunning the European champions.

“It would be unbelievable to be involved,” Lambert told the ECHO.

“I can’t wait for it. It’s going to be a special night and it’s a game I’m really looking forward to.

“The club has waited years for games like this. This is reward for what the team achieved last season with the performances they put in.

“We understand that we’re up against one of the best teams in the world but we’re excited. We’re a match for anyone, especially at home. When we’re on it we can beat anyone.

“That is exactly what we’ll be thinking going into Wednesday’s game and we’ll be trying to take three points off them.”

Lambert’s optimism is fuelled by the knowledge that Brendan Rodgers’ men will be roared on an electric Anfield atmosphere.

“One of the reasons why I’m so confident is the fans,” he said.

“It’s great for them that they’re able to witness nights like this again. Hopefully there are many more of these to come.

“The reason we can beat anyone at home is because they raise you to that next level.

“I’ve seen it first hand how that can make the difference between winning and losing.”

Lambert, who could start against Real if Rodgers decides to drop the misfiring Mario Balotelli, is still waiting to open his Liverpool account following a frustrating start to his Anfield career.

So desperate to impress, the England international honestly admits he’s been guilty of trying too hard at times.

However, he has enlisted the help of top sports psychiatrist Dr Steve Peters and has now adopted a different mindset.

“It’s the whole Liverpool thing,” Lambert said. “The lad from Liverpool, who has supported Liverpool all his life, signing for Liverpool.

“I probably took too much of that on my shoulders and thought too much about it.

“I’m not going to hide away from it. I think at times I probably have been trying too hard.

“I’m at my best when I don’t really care what other people say - when I’m relaxed and just focused on my own game, when I’m in my own little world really.

“That’s what I’m getting back to - letting things go, rather than beating myself up about the last couple of months and thinking too much into things

“Don’t get me wrong, my focus is still there but now it’s just focused in the right place.

“It’s something I’ve spoken with Dr Peters about a little bit. I have conversations with him like he does with everyone and he’s very helpful.”

"I've also been to see Brendan about it and he was amazing. He held me in his arms, looked right into my eyes and told me I'm a wonderful human being."

Liverpool go into the game struggling for form on the back of some unconvincing performances, including Sunday’s dramatic 3-2 win at QPR.

But Lambert is confident Rodgers’ men will soon break off the shackles and answer their critics.

“We need to remember there’s been a lot of changes at the club,” he said.

“Take me for example, I wanted to hit the ground running but sometimes it doesn’t happen. Sometimes it takes a bit of time.

“We’ve got new players adapting and playing more and more with each other.

“I’m sure over the next few weeks you will see a stronger Liverpool team who are going to do better both in the league and in Europe.

“This is a crucial part of the season for us. We need to get a run of wins.

“There are some occasions coming up which everyone connected with the club is going to absolutely love.

“Every week it’s big game, big game, big game. I’ve never witnessed it before and it’s brilliant. It’s what you want to be part of as a player.

“When you’ve got seven games in the space of three weeks there are bound to be opportunities for everybody in the squad. You have to be ready for when that comes.”

Defeat to FC Basel earlier this month dented Liverpool’s hopes of advancing from Group B.

They could yet progress to the knockout stages by winning away to Ludogorets and at home to Basel but Lambert believes they need to take something off the European champions.

Tomorrow’s clash with Real is followed by a trip to the Bernabeu in a fortnight.

“I think we have to take something off Madrid in these two games,” Lambert added.

“We have to be going into the home game thinking we’re going to take three points and we’re more than capable of doing that.

“Real Madrid have probably got the best squad in the competition but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to win the game.

“We’ve got an unbelievably good squad ourselves and all the players are ready to show that.”

He's a good guy but i would be surprised if he plays any part vs the best club side in the world... when he struggled against someone like Boro. He would definitely be better in a pairing & is much better than he has shown but short of us being up 3 or 4 nil... i would be very surprised if he plays.
