    The line-up was what the majority would have wanted. Manchester United played well and restricted our game. Some tweaks in the first half and a shuffle at half time was undone within 60 seconds in a moment of madness from Gerrard.

    Our heads dropped after the second, but we picked ourselves up. No qualms with Gerrard's red and whatever Skrtel may get, but Jones levels Lallana and Henderson and walks away with a yellow card ... There needs to be consistency.

    Let's hope we can get something at Arsenal.

      Moreno =sell
      Lallana = sell
      Allen = cancel contract

      That's about it.

        I don't quite get the "bottling it" thing, a team that's had £200m spent on it in the last 12 months came out faster than us and outplayed us for a good bit of the first half, you can't dominate every game in football and if it wasn't for some poor defending from Moreno and a ridiculous brainfart from Gerrard I think we could have got something from that in the second half.

          Disappointing, but there are eight games left to make something out of this league season.

          Think where we need more quality on the first team was highlighted again today so hopefully Brendan & co have already started working towards improving those areas.

          Also hope that Sterling's run of form in recent weeks highlights to him and his agent how much of a joke asking for up to £150k is.

          Bad day at the office but we need to now go and recreate the good run of results we had going before today.

            Moreno just had a bad game. He's ace really.

              Disagree on Moreno and Lallana.

                    Anyone blaming Rodgers for losing 1-2 to United with a man down for 45 minutes is thick as ****.

                      Last 3 (0-0 vs Blackburn). The thing is, LVG comes out and says this is the system he wanted to implement at Utd which means he knows it and out and where the bottlenecks for such a system lie.

                      We didn't change it or tweak it but just went in with hope that it will be okay. There's no way Sterling should have played at RB against a back four of Valencia-Jones-Smalling-Blind. That too at home!

                      Big **** up by BR.

                        For me gerrard lost us at least a draw....

                        In reality united didnt play amazing. Mata was very efficient and good on the ball but for me Sterling, Moreno, Lallana were all ****in ****e.

                        It might be a good time to mix things up and go back to a flat back 4.

                            Nope. We got the goal back because the players gave their all and Utd didn't play their final ball well in the second half. Could have been a proper drubbing otherwise.

                              He did set his side up in a way that was completely over run for 30 mins +. Looking at the preparation in terms of Brendan vs LVG, it's hard to argue he had a good day.
