Fairs fair, if i slag when he's ****e and uninterested, i have to acknowledge when's he's shone. That was a much better performance from Mo. I'm not so much bothered about the goals, given space and time he will always score. It was the fact he held it up without it bouncing off his shins. He took players on. He was very strong. He released the ball at the right time for the team rather holding onto it or trying to score for his own personal gain. That was like the level we were used to seeing. He looks more confident again. Fingers crossed he maintains this for the remainder of the season. Well done Mo, brilliant game.

Where does the fact that he doesn't play as a striker get factored in?Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostMy point is that strikers' goals per game ratio gets worse as they get older. Salah hasn't suffered from that yet whereas the others had. That means his goals per game record at the moment is a little flattering. It's not difficult to understand. And it doesn't mean he isn't a great striker. Ok?

There's a great pic of it where he's looking the complete wrong way

Can be said abut quite a few players tbh. Fabinho was at it, intercepting everything , Hendo was like a ****ing cattle dog nipping at heels all game. **** you love to see."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

Everything just clicked yesterday. The whole team was bang at it, maybe a nervous few moments in the first half, but much better than earlier in the season. Let's hope we don't get carved open as easily for the remainder.
Mo was back to his best, relentless, attacking defenders and making the right decisions - a world away from where he's been for most of this season. Fair's fair though, outstanding yesterday and him being on form helped the rest of the team find space as well... first touches were better across the board, we found space, looked calm when we needed to be calm, upped the tempo when we had the breakaway opportunities...
Everything we hit went in (bar one effort) and it was a thing of beauty. Still not getting carried away with the Madrid away leg, and still assuming we'll be focusing on fourth or above as our highlight for the season... Big ask to do any damage to Madrid, especially as they won't capitulate like United. If anything, at home I think they'll come at us again... sadly.

The thing is, Madrid have been playing like ****e for months, the game against us was a total anomaly to their current form. But in the CL they just seem to have a ****ing voodoo curse over us.Originally posted by Tribute View Post

Such a shame we are away. Imagine second leg was at Anfield, after yesterday I think we would believe anything was possible. That first goal vs City just gets better and better. It has aged like a fine wine. Given the calibre of defender and oposition is it possible to score a better goal?Originally posted by Shaggy View PostModifying post.
