But we do have a habit of coming up short in cup finals, derbies and in games that REALLY matter. Possibly just bad luck. Possibly the manager goes a little conservative. Maybe a bit of both. Frustrating is a massive understatement.

Hopefully we don't use our goals up at Newcastle. One nil will do.

Attack barca on Tuesday and if it's looking forlong, we **** them up hard. Smash Suarez in the teeth until they all fall out. ******.
I don' think either Salah or Mane have the mental strength to do it against the best when needed.

      It wasn’t.

Evidenced in the magic 8 ball thread.

It said we’d win the League and that Leicester would get something off City.

It didn’t fancy tonight at all.

Yeah this second paragraph is where it's at. We can be unbelievable at times, but at the end there's nothing to show for it.

These defeats make me feel like everything that happened during the season was just pointless. Waste of time and (playes') effort. It's unbelievably frustrating and I'm actually often sorry I got into football.

But they do most of the season. It is what it is. Maybe we're destined to be contenders.

But that is football. You don't get what you deserve. You need luck to win anything as margins are so fine.

At least we are serious contenders on 2 fronts.

Barcelona vs Liverpool - Champions League (Semi Final - 1st Leg)

Missed the game. Saw the highlights. Barca players ****house tactics and us being wasteful with chances. They were flattered by a 3-0 score line but at 2-0 it felt doable. At 3-0 that’s a big ask. Irrelevant of getting an early goal and dominating at Anfield... I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet.

Praying for a miracle. Would rather beat Newcastle and Wolves and see City slip up somewhere...

Klopp being smart playing gomez, just dont.
Even though we didnt loose due to mistakes directly by gomez his positioning for the first goal was ****e and allowed alba to play between our centre backs.

Gomez wasnt going to be an attacking threat, so it became too easy for them to double up on salah with no support or overlap.
Robertson was having a great game until they realised they didnt have to cover the ther full back so robbo got less space.
Wijnaldum is often poor and especially away.
Origi was like a rabbit in the headlights, he was that star struck i thought he was going to ask messi to sign his shirt in between nearly falling over the ****ing ball. He has all the control of a rampant andy carroll coming home after an all nighter down the boozer.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The last 18 months we deserve something but its probably not going to happen.

Thought we were decent tonight and they were scared, but they ran out winners. Still can do something second leg.

In 5 days time we might need to beat Wolves for a title, the doom and gloom is 11 days too early

That’s sport though mate. There’s only one winner, and we’ve had more than our fare share. We barely lose any games FFS.

It’s tough to get so far and falter. But I love everything about this team and manager I’ll forgive them everything. I’m proud to follow a team like this.

                    I believe trophies will come.

Chin up. Be proud of the team and the journey.

Going by this logic we didn’t deserve to win in Istanbul in 2005. We deserved to win in 2007 but got ****ed over by a rejuvenated 90year old Inzaghe. It’s a tough ask next Tues. premier league seems more realistic now out of the two. And that was the outsider before tonight...

I think we actually made a statement tonight.

If we keep this team together great things will happen.

How can you not love this team?

If not I suppose you can support Barca (yawn) or City (who really gives a **** about city beyond 20,009 original supporters).

We are a real team, with personality, with heart, with real character. And we are getting better and better every year.

Maybe it's my negative perception, but I feel that our success/failure is massively on the failure side. Since 2005 we've won one FA Cup and one League Cup right? And that UEFA thing against CSKA (but lost the bigger one vs. Sao Paulo even). No league titles for 30 years, and usually we don't even come close.

So yeah, if we really did win some / lose some, I could understand all this 'chin up be proud' stuff. Enjoy the ride and all that. **** it if you give me a PL title I don't care if we finish 6th the year after, it's a rollercoaster.

But the way we keep losing important stuff it just feels terrible every year.
