    Don't be a fruitcake.

I didn't say that at all.

But I did say that you're complaining about the performance, which you normally / always do.
    Oh I don't know.

Yeah that's not true, some individual performances maybe if warranted but yeah generally that's completely untrue.

Hey, I'm two pints and a bottle of wine in.

And pretty zen with all that, all things considered.

Enjoying the moment for what the moment is.

Outside the box and a good tackle FFS. How can this ever be given as a pen on review. How is the ref not having a look at that? What happened to them going to the little telly on the sideline?

Thought we looked a bit leggy tonight (bar Jota who was non stop). Strange season so far, good to pick up the 3 points even being nowhere near our brilliant best tonight.

Only team up with us have gained 4 points from var errors. We've had a rocky start but everyone else has been even worse.

The VAR situation is utterly ludicrous. I don't understand why VAR can't emulate cricket where they reach the right decision every time. Have a transparent review process that we can all see & hear, and if it's so marginal you need to draw lines on a screen or what the **** ever, stay with the onfield decision. How hard can it be?

I was ****ing raging about that pen decision, especially after last week, but we won so no point wasting any more energy on it.

Jota has settled in very quickly imo, he's extremely busy and looks a real goal threat. A great addition.

Hopefully in the week we can give the likes of Tsimikas and Shaq a game. Should have more than enough to beat them with maybe 5 or 6 changes, and be fit and firing to stuff a much improved West Ham next week.

Not a great performance tonight but a good grind and all three points. Gomez was superb throughout and his heading was particularly noteworthy considering all the criticism he gets for it.

I thought Henderson was another MotM contender, he carries the ball so well and directs the team magnificently.

I'd like to see Shaq, Jones and Minamino against Midgetland in the CL game so we can go big guns against West Ham who are doing surprisingly well!

So if that was Rugby, the VAR official would intervene (and you would hear him intervene) and say.

"you might want to have a look at that free kick decision Mike". The action would then appear on the big screen so the entire crowd can watch with the ref (ok no crowds, but the process is the same and would be seen on TV and we would hear the decision discussed. Whilst the numerous angles were played and rolled forwards and backwards.

The next thing the ref would say would be:

"OK, on review I am seeing that the Red 3 actually got a toe to the ball, so I am not seeing a free kick, do you agree".

                            "Yes we agree".

The other way if say, VAR thinks it may be a pen, VAR would intervene and say. "You might want to have a look at this as it as foul may have been inside the box"

again reviewed, it would be clear that it was outside the box, and not a free kick.

"OK, on review, the red 3 got a toe on the ball, so the decision is no penalty, no free-kick".

The transparency removes any 'arse-covering' also hearing and seeing the decision discussed in real time means you take the spectators with you (even if they disagree).

The on field decision remains until there is clear evidence that a mistake has been made. There is no issue with anything being missed as the VAR is so much a part of the overall package. VAR is not currently part of the process, it is an outsourced anonymous review, which is why it doesnt work.

                            It drives me ****ing nuts.

Most importantly, a win and 3 points.
                                Good to have Alisson back.
Appeared to be a lack of cover in front of the defence (from midfield).
If we're going to continue with a 4-2-3-1 formation - I'd rather see Thiago for Gini, and Keita for Firmino (Gini and Firmino good options from the bench).

Edit - no ****ing way was that a penalty. Unbelievable decision.
                                Another MASSIVE game
