Liverpool vs Sheffield Utd - Premier League (20/21 - Game 6)
Definitely a sign of a rock solid will power and mentality. We never seem to be affected by going a goal down.
If we can get Thiago integrated and figure out how we rotate for the amount of fixtures then I think we will take some stopping.
Need to ensure no more than 6 defeats this season and I think we are right in the mix.
I like Fabinho at centre half. He defends on the front foot, anticipates and reads the play well. Also, Gomez looks to be comfortable with him on that left side. If we can keep that solidity for a few weeks, the other parts of our game will start clicking into gear again. It's been two games since Virgil got injured, but I don't feel we've got a gaping hole at the back. I know, it's early days, but the signs are good.
Joe Gomez was my MOTM tonight by some distance. He’s looked better on the left since VVD got injured don’t you think? He did start his LFC career as a makeshift LB so is his preference on the left?

Gomez was outstanding tonight, even sprayed a 60 yard pass at one point, I didnt know he had that in his game. So far he has stepped up. And Fabinho has not put a foot wrong.
We have bounced back well from that drubbing by Villa.
Look, it wasn’t vintage... it wasn’t pretty... we’re dealing with injuries and Jürgen changing the system didn’t help... VAR gifted them a pen... we scored two good goals and we’re unlucky not to get a third. We’re joint top and all our rivals are dropping more points than us... We can only get better, more fluid and more clinical in front of goal. I’m taking three points every day of the week. Win ugly, but win.
Don't think the system changed. We still played a 433 with Jota on the right in a midfield 3.
Workmanlike and sloppy in first half but far better in the 2nd. As everyone’s said great mental strength shown to come back after yet more VAR bull****. We keep on & we’ll be reet.

Gomez is an outstanding player. Sometimes he suffers a bit of a dip, especially at the start of a season or after a few games he's been out. If you look at his age (23), then it's easily understandable as he's still very young. Show me a centre back as good as him in world football at his age.
Well look, we're not playing great but are still the best team in the league.
We've also played the teams currently 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th. Difficult start, difficult circumstances, 2nd on GD. It'll be a grind and it might take 80 odd points, but we'll still win it imo.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
That's why I'm not worrying, we are the best team in the league, still there at the top and playing nowhere near as good as we can play. Matip and Thiago back and no way Trent, Bobby and Gini can play any worse. I think it will be a strange Premier league this year though.
