The intensity from the kick off is so true - lately you can tell within seconds how it's going to play out. Today someone (Trent?) immediately sliced it out of touch and we were all over the place. Something deeper than personnel has become an issue, and tbh I have no idea what it is.

I have the same feeling, it's not just individual errors, something more basic. We've been ropey since it was clear we were about to win the title and have only raised our game in fits and starts since then. It feels like third season syndrome to me. We were always going to have to rebuild the team at some point and it looks like it'll be this year. I only hope that Klopp will stay around for the next step.

A draw would have felt like a win. Thats how low we've sunk.

Lets be honest here. With our front 3 not performing and our makeshift back 4 not performing (with no return of VVD or Gomez likely, and Matip being Matip), we're not winning anything this season. Thats the cold hard truth.

I really do think theres a massive problem between Salah and Mane whicn needs to be addressed in tne summer too, with one of them probably heading off.

Seems to be more than that given the Salah strop over the captaincy a few weeks back.

I kind of agree, but it was Tiago last week. Apart from VVD I don't think it's a personnel issue, it's desire, willingness to make runs into space, confidence to shoot, intensity at kick off, it's all wrong. We let them score after 2 mins because of a lack of concentration (and a quality finish), crossed whenever we should have shot, crossed when we should have held it up, lost most 50/50 situations, the same as previous games. Alison's suicide run out late on too. Our judgement and decision making is in chaos. As poor results continue, confidence drops further and everything becomes yet more difficult.

This possibly could (don't think it will) spiral pretty quickly, particularly if utd do us. The players have gone from thinking they were practically unbeatable to knowing the next game will be a struggle. Klopp is a master psychologist, and when you look at the end of Klopp at Dortmund, things turned to **** very quickly and severely, probably because the players stopped believing the manager when he told them they were capable of anything. Confidence can be a fragile thing.

That’s true and it did cross my mind second half.

Wasn’t that season also a statistical anomaly though (which is kind of what today was). I’m prepared to be content if we don’t win the League this year. A lot of blood sweat and tears went into last season. That said, I’m not ruling us out. Being able to rotate the front three would be huge right now, so hopefully Jota is back soon.

But then everything is a compromise. We had a midfield with two players making a first start after taking injuries. Hendo and Fab at the back. We missed both of them in midfield. The shape was all wrong at times.

At our best we are a machine. The machine has two many bits not working or misfiring or in the wrong place. No assists from Robbo for a few games. None fromTrent for absolutely ages. Forwards off form. It’s too many things not right at the same time.

I’m intrigued to see how we go on the CL though, maybe we can salvage the season (assuming we don’t win the League) there.

What a day. Christmas tree down. Back into lockdown. And losing the footy.

We miss Jota a lot more than I anticipated. When we were poor he was getting late winners and we look toothless at the moment. Crazy to say after the 7-0 win at Palace!

Something has to change, we can't keep attempted 90 crosses a game, it's ****e.

Wow is that legit? We've won at Chelsea and Palace this season alone, that can't be right.

I swear I heard Carra say 1 win in 14 games before the game. My bad.

Our only win since Chelsea was against Palace in the league and I haven't looked back to end of previous season, but the record wouldn't be too far off I guess as I remember our away form was a bit ropey end of last season.

Yeah that one was a joke. No agonising over dubious looking pens and handballs either. Not saying they were ‘nailed on’, but barely a second glance. When you watch the Pogba one and some of the ones we had it’s like a different system is governing the decisions.
