I thought we hit rock bottom at home vs City but I was wrong. Looks like next season is the time to start building the records again - everyone we had has been replaced with the worst since as opposed to the best since.......I keep thinking how alarming the drop off has been. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a change and then I remember the injuries.

A team is built from GK - 2CBs and DM.........we are missing three of those players in VVD, Joe and Fab. The injury context overrides everything for me - now Hendo is gone for the next while just as Naby is back. He is will be overplayed and then gone again - it’s a never ending **** show.

We may see two actual CBs play which is something - Phillips did ok but was roasted by Richarlison for the 2nd goal

For me it's a snowball. When you feel the world is against you, like whatever you do you're getting the wrong end of decisions, it's hard to get out of.

The var mess didn’t cost us the game. It’s confirmed the loss but that was likely anyway.

Need to have a real rethink the rest of this season in the league as there are too many not performing

I agree. I’d like to see us get the midfielders back into midfield and play there CBs we’ve got now in defence. Top 4 has likely gone but let’s try to get some confidence back into the side and see where we can get to.

Winning number 7 looks our best bet for CL next season now though

Perhaps someone can explain the rules of football to me, last week Barnes played the ball past our player ran into them and got a freekick, today Calvert Lewin did the same and got a pen, Man Utd have been doing the same and getting pens. Is that what a foul is now?

Despite the injuries, with the players we have at our disposal, we should be playing much much better football. We have been figured out. The counter press is not working, when it doesn’t work it leaves spaces wide open for the opposition to counter. Basically teams have to do **** all, so easy to defend against, just wait for the counter that always comes and it’s easy. Unlike in Europe, they haven’t figured out yet that the worst thing you could do is try and play offensive football against us. Major tactical rethink needed, **** 4-3-3 off for a start.

We haven't been playing the counter press this season, mid week was one of the few times we did, or at least did so effectively
