Weird how out of all those games, the two most winnable ones currently are against Chelsea...

Any team with pace and physicality know exactly how to play against us. Let us have our aimless slow, ponderous possession and then counter. Take the Wolves game, Thiago our most talented midfield and craftsman on the ball made 6 tackles. Henderson made 0 and Fabinho made 1. That says all you need to know & probably why Thiago gets so many muscular injuries... he doesn't have the legs but at least he tries to put himself about. He was brought in to be the craft and guile (Keita was meant to give us that), Hendo the work horse and Fab the enforcer. We get out paced and out fought in that midfield in almost every game & have to rely on individual quality to bail us out. Every team knows it, even we know it and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it, as we simply do not have the personnel.

Fab and Hendo haven't played well consistently for about 12 months plus now. I'd even have Keita in instead of Henderson at this stage but he will be injured soon no doubts. We're all saying the same things it's just so obvious and the question is why are we in this position? It is lack of funds or just negligence with our transfer targets? We paid 65m for Nunez & about 40m for Gakpo, two players that could potentially be amazing attacking options & it's great to have them but did anyone not think "well lads, we might need to sort out that midfield area first". But wait we did, we paid about 4m loan fee for Melo (slow, midget) and he's on 6m quid a year too. Even at a panic buy what on earth was the thinking behind that one? Lets get a tiny, slow, weak guy to go into our midfield of slow and weak guys.

We have the worst duel success rate in the league on 47.5%. Last week we found out we have the worst shot conversion rate & a little cherry on top, are the 3rd worst in the league for giving up big chances. Good times.

And ironically our most winnable games are probably against them. I don't fancy our chances against Wolves and Brighton.

Basically, it’s the managers fault and there’s no escaping that imo. Lack of funds would be an excuse for us failing to topple city, but when we keep spending good money on attackers and relying on unreliable players elsewhere, the squad imbalance is down to the management team. The refusal to change tactics in light of declining team quality is also poor management.

Then Pepijn Lijnders writes a book about great they are. I think complacency and hubris sum it up.

I think it would be terrible for us, but the best option for Klopp and co would be to start from scratch with a new project elsewhere.

Obviously most of these were last season, but given how bad we have been this season, it shows how far we have fallen...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't want klopp out, but wish he would be more pragmatic in his approach given the team situation we have. We really must adapt to the personel we have fit and in form.
I wouldn't be against seeing the back of pep and his intense attitude, it pisses me off and I don't have to gear him every day, the players must groan every time he goes to the white board.

Klopp is stubborn and incredibly loyal to his players and owners but, without him, we wouldn't have had the same success over the last 7 years. Furthermore, I can't think of any other manager that I would want to rebuild the squad (first team). Klopp deserves the chance to start a new era, even if it takes a year or two to rebuild, especially if the club gets new (wealthy) owners.

The Lijnders thing is probably overblown too. None of us really know how good any of the backroom staff is. Remember when everyone knew that Achterberg was a **** coach ruining our goalkeepers? Or when we all **** ourselves at Buvac leaving only for us to sweep the board of trophies without him?

Midfield recruitment has been negligent. Just as Centre-Half recruitment was negligent a couple of years ago. We'll fix it. Hopefully at least partially this window or we could struggle for top four.

with or without new owners i agree. i think the julian ward situation has also got us in limbo a bit. klopp will be involved in naming a successor to him, and that must be on his mind as much as anything else.
