Yeah, Gakpo looks he's adjusting and showing his class.Originally posted by Charly View PostHe is definitely showing his qualities now. I can see him filling in nicely in Bobbys role.
He is more of a "Milner" version of Bobby. More efficiency then fancy, but gets the job done.
I wonder if Nunez will be competing with Gakpo or Diaz for playing time?

I dont think Nunez is as useful out wide. His main threat is pace and heading, although his running through the middle is effective, he doesnt seem to get the soace to run into when playing wide. Personally I dont think he has the close control, but I know I am in the minority. He really needs to be in the box as central as possible.. But the beauty of all our strikers is that they can move about, and pace will always frighten defenders.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostYeah, Gakpo looks he's adjusting and showing his class.

I think Gakpo can play both, but he looks like he can link play well, and I cannot see Klopp not playing him in the middle. He pressed hard tooIn the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Anyone remember Firmino's first few games? Looked completely lost just like Gakpo did. Played right midfield, right wing back at Old Trafford
....feel like Gakpo's start here has been fairly similar in terms of looking lost and having to adapt. I'll freely admit I couldn't see anything in him in those first 3 or 4 games. Looks a totally different player now and seems the sort of player who'll develop with the good coaching he'll get here and adapt to that Firmino role, with the ability to come from the left like he's always done and did for the first goal.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Exactly this. Firmino looked like a decent ball player who was lost in our system, I reckon for about 6 months and then everything seemed to gel. That's why you have to give them time to bed in. I'd say the same for Nunez as well as Gakpo.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAnyone remember Firmino's first few games? Looked completely lost just like Gakpo did. ****, I forgot he was under Brendan. That's 8 years ago. I know we've had the covid time slip but that's freaky.Originally posted by Charly View PostTo be fair, I think he was lost in Brendans system, as a winger with no pace. I dont think he knew what to do.with him. It was an odd signing at the time... maybe Klopp was directing things from afarExperimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

It begs the question where Diaz will play when fit. I had thought Gakpo might be backup to Diaz, Nunez and Mo, but not on Gakpo's recent form. Being two footed, I wonder if Diaz might be seen as Mo's long term replacement on the right?Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAnyone remember Firmino's first few games?
