Apparently we have another one or two brilliant young defenders coming up behind him too - some fella called Amara Nallo. Hes just 17 but build like a brick ****house.

Lfc have some ****in brilliant young players. Bobby Clark, Ben Doak, Kaide Gordon, Bradley, Quansah and the fella Nyoni supposed to be a potential worldie too. When you consider that the average age of our first 11 is already young as **** then the potential here is ****in unreal. And i think what it might mean is that when the time eventually does come to say goodbye to the likes of Mo Salah, Virgil and Alisson, then we will have a pretty big wedge ready to do that because we have sich strength in depth that we won't need that many others.

Getting back to defenders, i wonder would we go for someone like Tosin Adarabioyo from fulham. Might be cheap enough as he is out of contract in the summer. Good age and a good player. Would add strength in depth and be a reasonable back up player but wouldn't hold Quansah back either. Basically could replace Matip. Lloyd Kelly might be another option in the exact same scenario

    Gettig back
Tosin makes so much sense for all the reasons you state

Amuses me that the scout/recruiter that first noticed Toisin is called Terry John.

Another brilliant performance. Only 21 on loan at Bristol Rovers in League 1 last season and now this. Looks so cool and composed, very much like VVD. Excited to see what he can achieve over his career.

              Him and Bradley

Kelleher and Elliot to lesser degrees.

Throw in how Endo is performing and our youth and back up players could be saving us quite a bit of money come the summer and those funds might be able to go elsewhere in the team.

Its hard to imagine where we inprove the team. I think we need a top left back and maybe a cb to replace Matip.

Maybe a pacey striker as backup.?

All depends on who the new manager wants to bring in. And one or two of our senior players might **** off as well - if they get a big offer then it might be the right time for them with Jurgen also leaving.

Such a pity that Jurgens leaving as this team could go on and do something class

We’ve still got some loanees to return who could add to the squad. Even though they played in the lower leagues Quansah and Bradley came back ready to make the step up. We usually all think a loan to a championship team or a premier league team is a must but those two show differently.

I would be happy with VVD & KOnate with Gomez/Quansah back up leaving a space for Koumetio or A>N youngster as 5tth CB

I reckon Alonso would love Ivan Toney as a Boniface type player.

Gomez is backup rb/lb too. Id worry.

Perhaps in that case we give Matip a 1 year extension? Maybe cheaper than bringing in a backup, although its a coin flip on whether he will be fit

I think that’s a great idea. Certainly cheaper than bringing someone new in and it will add some experience for the youngsters to learn from too. Both Konate and Quansah have shown they can copy a marauding Matip run through the midfield.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

I think Matip's race is run here. He's a legend at the club and rightfully so but we can't rely on him.

We have three excellent CB to play alongside VVD, one more would be needed though, especially if Alonso joins and implements three at the back. Matip would excel in that if he could stay fit.
