    Strange decision really,.

Yesterday I hope we use an example of what can happen when you don't close a game out properly.

I mean Suarez would probably have scored at least 3 yesterday. Torres was always good for a couple of goals when he played against United.

      We really missed those guys

Wasn't it the case that the injury to Clark prevented the planned substitution for Mo?

After we’d decided we needed to bring VVD on in the 66th minute whilst 6-1 ahead. We didn’t even need to play Mo at all.

Salah was due to come off but then... Clark??? Got injured.

I kind of agree, but then I am aware that we use Sport Scientists to monitor minutes, fitness and return, so am imagining there is some logic to these decisions. They just didnt seem to work for us in this instance.

If we had hung on after Elliot's goal, or after Salah's for that matter, we would be praising our team mentality and what not.

                Fine lines and all that.

Klopp gambled with team selections and we ran out of gas. That extra 30 minutes just caught up on some players.

We could have gone weaker in the EL though we did see in the first leg that they had the ability to create chances so had we gone weak and that allowed them to score a goal or two early on, then we might have been complaining that Klopp took them too lightly.

All we can do now is take yesterday on the chin. Let the players not travelling with their countries recharge their batteries and hopefully then come the 31st March against Brighton we have some of the injured guys back and ready to take some minutes.

And to be honest, if this buys ETH another season then happy ****in days. The whole week off for them was huge and the fact that we are missing a few players and others just back from injury too masks the whole thing too.

In the league game, they will fancy that now too - and they should. We just need to be ready for that too.

Why the **** are we playing Sheffield United at home on the Thurs night before going to United on the Sunday afternoon though??? What the **** is that about ffs

The mancs have no advantage over us there.

We have a home game that Thursday night before playing the mancs on the Sunday, but the mancs have to play Chelsea in London on the Thursday night.

Hell their kick off time on the Thursday is later than our's too.

So they have more travel than us and less recovery time than us as a result.

Maybe Salah got subbed yesterday cos he wasn't playing very well in the second half (he wasn't).

That result has really stung the fanbase and i'd imagine Klopp & the players too. We looked physically drained and there was a lot of really poor performances and the galling thing is that we were actually cruising for most of the game, even playing nowhere near our best, it was only stupid individual mistakes and not being clinical that ****ed us.

What is annoying is that they have taken points from us earlier in the season, knocked us out of the cup and will have a chance soon to royally **** our title bid... which you better believe they'll be up for. Hopefully that sting is fuel for the league game at OT.

Might be just the kick in the balls we need. Those 3 points at old Trafford are worth like 100. And we'll only get them if we are fully focused. Which we haven't been both times we've faced them. Yesterday will serve as a reminder why.

When we were dominant we didn't put them to the sword when we had the chance. Too content to pass it around, fans and commentary could see that we took our foot off the gas and could easily regret it.
                            A real lack of intensity...
There is no way a team like city would sit back and try and cruise to a narrow win, they'd be driven to score more to prevent pep having a schizoid embolism.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Other than brainless decision-making maybe a 5 on 2 was just too many of us going forward - I wonder whether one of them should have eased off and made it a 4 on 2 and might have opened up different space/lines.

I'm still pissed off about it

2022 all over again. Stupidity to try and fight on 4 fronts. I may be proved totally rash, hopefully, but I think we're going to struggle from here on
