I'm pretty annoyed with that result but I'm also sanguine about it.

I'm hoping it will spur us on to better things. A couple fewer games in the calendar will be helpful, but with Coventry in the semi, it would have been another final for the collection. Grr.

Been out for a bike ride and then to the pub for a few pints - still pissed off. How we let that absolute wank side look anywhere near decent is beyond criminal. We completely caved in and stopped playing football, no excuses, no scapegoats - is was a collective bottle job. The lads just need to learn from this and move on.

Pretty much sums it up.

I feel deflated. We lost to spurs due to appalling officiating. We lost to arsenal as they were the better side. Today, we just didn't turn up or look interested for large parts. Yet still we controlled the majority of the game. I said during the match we would regret not getting the 3rd when we had total dominance and they had all but given up. Our choice of passes in the final 3rd were awful. We literally threw the game away.

Kenny made this point as well. FA cup is the final game of the season and the semi was coventry. No dressing it up like that.

The last goal is still galling this morning. Silly.

The last two goals were totally avoidable. Darwin giving the ball away under pressure for the first and having Harvey as pretty much last man for the second. The stadium was jumping and we just lost our way.

But we had the game won so really have nobody to blame but ourselves.

Fair play to Utd, they also created a lot of chances after it went to 2-2 also and had us penned in at times in a way that was really uncharacteristic. Rashford really should have won it with the last kick on 90mins.

I'm always gutted to lose to them, and the manner of the defeat makes it all the more difficult to take, we were the better side for 60 of the 90 mins, in complete control and really should have put the game to bed, we had the chances to do it, but didn't take them, our decision making at times was poor, I am thinking the 5v2 and over committing for the corner at the end of ET.

All that said the FA Cup was last in our remaining list of priorities, potentially winning all four would have been great but I said earlier in the season I don't think we have the squad for that, and that I feared tiredness would affect our ability to win other competitions, if that defeat can act as a warning to us and push us in to win other things I will take that, what we need to do is make sure it doesn’t have a negative effect

I'm seeing it from the City perspective and their games calendar. They've now got two tough games in the FA Cup, don't care who wins it but they'll not be able to take it easy

We ****ed it up. The 5 v 2 was criminal.

Our subs didn't make us better i don't think (i know Elliott scored in ET) and that was surprising and annoying.

Someone said before the game that they'd take a loss of it guaranteed us 3 points there in the league in a few weeks time. I totally agree with that but it still annoying. When we went in at half time, i was sure that we would come out in the 2nd half and pick them off.

Hopefully though we now kick on and finish thw league season on a high. Every time we lost this season (or even drop points), we seem to snap out of it and go back to autopilot winning mode. Hopefully that happens again.

And to be honest, if this buys ETH another season then happy ****in days. The whole week off for them was huge and the fact that we are missing a few players and others just back from injury too masks the whole thing too.

In the league game, they will fancy that now too - and they should. We just need to be ready for that too.

Why the **** are we playing Sheffield United at home on the Thurs night before going to United on the Sunday afternoon though??? What the **** is that about ffs

I’m not entirely comfortable with the subs yesterday and on Thursday. Playing Salah and dom for 90 mins in what was effectively a dead rubber game and then taking them off yesterday seems like bad time management to me.

Hate to say it but Milner and Henderson would have been invaluable in the last 20 minutes of that match.
