I have a suspicion the players have lost any confidence they had in him.

Gerrard for me. Shame there's no Roy Evans, Ronnie Moran type person to be number 2. Someone with great knowledge of the club and experience.

Or could we tempt Pep G? I mean sure he's done great at City, but would he appreciate the opportunity in front of our fans.

It might be difficult to get him out of Brazil but what about Ancelotti.

Alonso for me, he’s done his management apprenticeship with ze Germans and is currently wasting his time messing around in Spain, it’s time he stepped up to a big club & proved himself.

I don't think he does. Neither he or Ancelotti are leaving their roles soon, and klopp won't come back yet either.

Anyone else reckon he's done if we lose against West Ham?

No I don’t think so. Even without knowing available alternatives, I suspect the brains trust will want to give him a bit longer in the hope he turns it around and they don’t have to say they were wrong

I don’t know. We just see the symptoms, we don’t have enough info to know what the underlying cause is. Is the problem him? Has the famous Dutch directness led him to say things that turned the players against him? Do they think he’s not a tactical genius and no longer believe in him?
Apparently MacAllister was the last to leave the pitch yesterday and was in tears. It was mentioned in something Neil Atkinson wrote. Mo has cried on the pitch this season. Robbo spoke in midweek about his grief. I don’t know wtf is wrong with Cody other than he no longer has competition from Diaz for his place. Mo is usually such a fierce competitor, at least in attack, you have to wonder is his drop-off so stark and so sudden or is he keeping himself fresh for his last chance at winning Afcon? Has Ibou reached agreement with Real already and has mentally checked out?

I think he's gone at the end of the season regardless of what happens. The owners are probably desperately hoping he can muddle through til then.

In fairness, this isn’t all on Slot. There are a few key players badly letting him down. Konate has been nothing short of a disgrace this season. Madrid or no Madrid, he is paid a fortune to perform at an elite level and he has been directly responsible for far too many of the goals we have conceded. Half the time it comes from him gifting the opposition pointless set pieces for absolutely no reason.

Gakpo looks like a one trick pony who only ever wants to cut inside and shoot. Salah, to be fair to him, emptied the tank last season chasing records, but he is getting older and you can see the decline creeping in. We signed two proper top class number nines and then forced them into a system that is clearly not built for number nines. The fullback situation is a mess as well. Bradley simply cannot stay fit long enough to be relied upon as a first choice option.

Some of the lads came into this season believing their own hype. Everything feels upside down and then on top of that you have the Jota tragedy. Maybe this season ends up being a write off, but finishing in the top four is absolutely essential. If we can scrape that, then we go again next year.

My gut feeling is that Slot only gets his marching orders if the top four spot genuinely starts slipping away later in the campaign. Otherwise he probably gets the chance to begin next season.

After the summer outlay can we survive no champions league?

I don't think so. I think if there's a viable option to come in, the club will be considering it. If slot doesn't turn it around, the longer we leave it, the worse position we'll be.
