Different circumstances here of course, but that didn't fill me with confidence

They still came second with 84 points and won a domestic cup that season. Only two defeats all season in the league as well. So not a bad "worst" season"

Just looked a bit more at that season, Feyenoord scored four or more goals in 11 league games and scored 92 overall. From a 34 game season.

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

The one criticism is saw regularly about Slot from his time at Feyenoord was his use and development of younger players. Everything else was all positive and we saw most of that last season but he’s not offering much of those positives right now.

I’m keeping at a vibes level thanks Doc. No need to bring pesky facts into this online discussion

Was he out of his depth and a fraud when he won the league ?

            We have the oddest fans
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Apart from if you're Arne Slot it seems.

I thought this comment from his pre match presser was interesting - "Alex could benefit maybe from a Conor or a Jeremie type of player who goes outside, instead of both wingers we have who come inside and full-backs who can come in with crosses."

For me this is one of the most obvious problems we have. Of course Slot needs to find a solution to it, and personally I would start with swapping Gakpo and Salah's positions, but more to the point I am a little more relaxed if the coach can at least identify the problems we have. Of course, you could argue that our net spend over the summer should have resolved these issues before they caused problems, but that isn't entirely Slot's fault.
                    Really?

He hasn't really identified the issue, even though its been fairly obvious.
He has just picked up on the gossip and criticism and then repeated it like he is some football tactical genius.
If he truly was that switched on we'd have been doing it weeks ago.
Every time he opens his mouth he comes across as the 2nd coming of brendog.

I don't understand what the comment means tbh.
Isn't he in control of what the wingers do? If not why not?
And what's stopping the fullbacks going outside now and providng crosses.

Thats like saying we're prone to counter attacks because our backline is really far forward and they're too slow to chase, and then doing the same thing repeat. Why does he even open hsi mouth at this point.

Give us something to believe in then.

Taking too long to address problems that seem quite obvious. Hard to believe in that.

And the problems are beyond obvious and arent changing. You know theres an issue when the team wants to constantly pass 40 times at the back while losing and the ccrowd starts yelling at them in annoyance, and they keep doing it. Thats Slots tactics.
