You could look at it another way and the lack of energy and enthusiasm is a sign that the players don’t want to out there playing this type of football for this manager.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Players will be better served directing their energy to breaking down defences and getting the better of their opponents rather than engineering managerial changes. Getting physically outmuscled and then whining publicly about the coaching would not be a good look.
