We managed a high tempo against Gala, but keeping that up for 2 months would be a stretch when most of the bench can’t manage a full game at our current pedestrian pace.

It might not be realistic, but if Klopp were to come back even as interim, we would probably get the ultimate new manager bounce.

I’m less bothered about Klopp making it difficult for another manager to come in. Managers need a level of self confidence to succeed and if they are worried about Klopp’s shadow, they probably aren’t the right person for the job.

I don't see a new manager coming in new rather than the summer, why would they want to be associated with the current ****show. Summer in principle gives a bit of time to get ideas across and a clean break. Also fitness issues aren't likely to improve even with a change of manager.

If there is a change now it's a temporary manager, but I just don't see anything happening before summer.

A new manager now could maybe earn some early credit by getting us into next year’s CL. Or fail, with someone else’s squad, and be up against it before they’ve even had a transfer window and pre-season. Big risk, for us and them. There’s only two managers I’d be willing to make that change now for, Jurgen and the Rafa of 20 years ago.

The only long term candidate who may come in mid-season is Alonso. He has enough credit with the fan base to be given time because the current ****show is on Slot.

We needed a change months ago, now we are at the sharp end of the season with the toughest route to the CL final.

There 3 maybe 4 teams fighting for 4th place. We are likely to get a 5th CL spot but it’s not a formality that we get a CL place.

The high paid help needed to be decisive and they dithered.

Inclined to think this one is bollocks. Why would Flo be telling this to multiple international teammates? Even if it was “this guy is asking weird questions, you reckon Xabi is coming to Liverpool?” why would he be asking them? How would they know? Are German footballers gossips that would put my Mum to shame?

When these stories are “player A has told international teammates that he really hopes to go to club B in the next window” then you can believe it might have been planted by his agent and there’s a grain of truth in it. This one doesn’t pass the smell test.
