FSG have procrastinated on the decision to ditch Slot and try either a new manager or an interim that should have been made at Christmas.

At that point, we had the chance to make changes to the squad, which could have affected a change in the results.

The lack of a Plan B and the fact that we are now down to the wire in both the CL and the PL mean we are risking CL qualification. If we fail, it will reduce the club's ability to entice elite managers and players.

You'd think with all their AI, stats and forecasting they would have been able to see this scenario playing out and known when to make a change.

The only ray of hope we have had since the turn of the year has been the Galatasaray game. Sadly, it looks like that was an anomaly rather than a return to an attractive, attacking style of football.

Was just thinking this morning, I’m done blaming Slot now, it’s all now on the board, fool me once and all that….

You only need to look at the mancs to see how a change can be uplifting.

Maybe Carrick is a tactical genius. Or maybe he does the basics right enough to get the best out of the players they have, instead of expecting the players to understand so convoluted system that is not working

I reckon he stays the season now. If a change was to be made it should have happened sooo many occasions ago! New guy would still have had a chance to instil a playing philosophy, still been in 3 comps to make progress.

Now it’s squeeze in to top 4 and potentially just 2 more CL games.

I really don’t understand this yo-yo like performances…outstanding vs Gala crap immediately the next game vs BHA.

Looking ahead either Slot gets backed again next season to add squad balance & restore harmony or a new guy to do the same…right now i’d prefer a new guy as not sure if Slot can find his last seasons mojo or good enough for this profile role.

Ultimately i want a manager in who has us fit & fighting for 90+ mins each game, plays high intensity football and let other teams worry about us, uses squad well and based on performances, utilises our youth set up.

I'm of the same opinion when it comes to our style of play and intensity. My big fear is that the players' fitness and endurance have fallen off a cliff this season, thanks to Slot's coaching. How long is it going to take to get that back?

Hopefully, it is achievable in pre-season, but with the World Cup, I doubt it.

More likely we have a season of transition, with a new manager, new squad members to bed in and a higher tempo style of play.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

He will get sacked if our form carries on, imho. The toxicity will spread to the dressing room and stands, and its not a good look.

Psg is his last chance. If we go out he will probably "resign".

Ooh interesting. Why would Klopp agree to that though? He would have to leave his Red Bull role for that

I cant see Klopp coming back. People would lose their **** though.

Not sure what he could do if we cant keep Slot's halfarsed intensity up for 80 minutes

The spirit of the side is broken, they seem to care about as much as we all do at the moment.

And whether or not it's fair, that's a terrible reflection of the management.

Nah there is plenty we can put on Slot but the players ****ting the bed at the first sign of adversity is on the players.

Our tactics looked right and on point right up to the penalty, then that went against us and the players on the pitch gave up.

Slot has done plenty wrong, but the lack of effort and cowardly play from many of the players after the first goal went in is on all the players that gave up.

Plus getting bored of VVD coming out with little statements after a bad performance from himself and other players. If he and the other players know they are messing up then at least do the bare minimum and put the maximum effort in. A strong mentality can be encouraged and forged by management, but at the end of the day it needs the effort of it's owner to bring it into effect.

Quitting during a game is on the players and even though they will see Slot blamed for their cowardice, their spineless perfomance is all on them for me.

The senior players are accountable for a lot of what has gone wrong on the pitch this season in my eyes. Sacking Slot is not going to do the trick imo, the rot, regardless of cause, goes far beyond the coach.

Whether it is physical decline, grief or whatever else, I think the club and a number of players would be better off without the other.

                              New coach/manager? Sure.

But the new guy will need to be shot for a few of the players living on past reputations too. Too many have won it all or won enough to not want to work hard to go again imo.

Yeah i agree with most of that Doc.

                                Virgils excuses are annoying too.

I reckon Arne could be gone after the psg home game. If we go out poorly to them and the fans go against the team, then surely it becomes untenable. I reckon Fulham will take points off us on Saturday as well with us having our 3rd game in 8 days, after playing away yo City and PSG, whereas they will be playing their first game in 3 weeks.

That will surely lead the board to decipher that we stand more of a chance getting top 5 with an interim than continuing.
