I've got 10 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses, taking into other competitions we might still be in. Putting us on 85 points with likely superior goal difference.
We would need to drop our 2.38 PPG pace to 2.06. Arsenal would need to raise their's from 2.00 to 2. 56, or ideally 2.63 taking GD into account. They could do it by being out of all other comps by then but we would just need to convert one of our losses to a draw (or draw to a win obviously) and Arsenal have no chance.
Edit: for Arsenal to hit 2.63 they have to win 14 anddrawlose 2.Last edited by BigChief; 20-01-25, 02:29 PM.One tit for another.

I think most clubs bar us will struggle to get over 80 points this season. The Mid table clubs have really kicked on this season.
PTSD kicking in but i still seee City finishing 2nd. Although I look at Brentford game and think half decent teams will get results against them hopefully_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

Last year we were on course for the quadruple at this point, and then completely collapsed and ended the season disappointed.
Glass half empty interpretation - that could happen again.
Glass half full interpretation - if it does, and we have identical results in our last 17 games this season, we'll get to 84 points and will probably still win the league.

If a figure is in red, then its a higher ppg than the team has managed so far this season. So to get 80+ points, every other team would need to improve their form massively, whereas we can get to 80+ even with worse form than the first half of the season. And we're the only team that can reach 90 points based on form from the first half of the season
In fact, we're the only team that would reach 80 points based on the results to far.
Oh I don't know.

Data to the rescue
Basically if we keep performing to the level and delivering the results we have been (On a PPG basis) so far then we win the League. And then to caveat that, other teams would have to outperform us to a sizeable level to stop us.
The other thing to factor in is that there are going to be more competitive games around CL and Euro places than is typical meaning other teams will take more points of each other.
We are in a great place

Yep I can't see City and Chelsea not trying their damndest to beat Arsenal (and us). The only difference is we can absorb those losses whereas Arsenal can't afford a single one (without going flawless in their 14 other games).Originally posted by Buzzo View PostData to the rescue
