Hilarious isn’t it - in the season when the summer break was curtailed and so a winter break is definitely needed..
    Really?

The league/FA were never serious about it anyway. IIRC every team was supposed to have a 2 week break, last year we had a 2 week break in PL fixtures, but we had a league cup game in there which reduced to to more like 10 days.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Plymouth drawn to play away at City. Not a bad game to miss out on to be honest.

Agreed; apart from the embarrassment of losing to plymouth I’m perfectly happy to be out of the fa cup. Had we got to the semis, i would want to win it because - why not. No objection to going out of nothing trophies early if the kids can’t quite pull it off.

Potentially 500mins of football we don't need

I didn’t realise our game v Villa was rearranged to Feb 19th. Means that within the space of a week we go from game in hand to 1 game ahead. Win both for a 12 point lead with Arsenal having a game in hand…

                I’ll take that please

Kai Haverts out for the season, in light of other injuries for them, a bit of a blow.

Couldn’t have happened to a nastier piece of s..t. They’ll miss him though
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Jesus out for the season, Saka until late March probably and Martinelli out as well. Challenging weeks ahead for them.

Edit: Although looking at the next fixtures, they have few and relatively easy games really. Should manage until Martinelli comes back at least.

Nah, he will be back at Easter.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

So it turns out that the FA have decided that Premier League matches can't be played on the weekends of the FA Cup fifth round, and quarter finals. That never used to be the case.

So we will get two more weekends off but the teams left in the Cup won't.

I don't know what goes through heads of these people when they're making these decisions.

We’re about to play 5 PL matches in 15 days. Then over the following 5 weeks, we’ll play one single solitary PL game.

The schedule is a complete cluster ****. It’s maddening.
