Ian graham explains precisely the value of set pieces and corners themselves very well his book how to win the prem with data.

I won’t bore with the details but corners and set pieces in general can be a very efficient performance leveller because you don’t need to have extremely skillful players to be good at them in the same way that you would to implement a possession based strategy.

Would definitely recommend giving it a read and I think many on here would find it interesting from a general football perspective as well as insight into LFC under Rodgers and Klopp standpoint

I'd say we are an outlier in terms of our league position / points total in relation to our set piece record. Even when City had a team of midgets, they have the likes of Otamendi or Kompany popping up regularly with goals. United, Arsenal, Chelsea all had a big threat in years gone by.

Hopefully it evens itself out 2nd half of season. Good match to start though against the worse team defending set pieces.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Quansah pop up with a goal.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He's taken a few this season, his delivery is better IMO than the full backs

He genuinely does, the two teams with the best set piece goal difference in prem history were Tony pulis’ stoke and his west brom when both of them finished 10th.

If you took away all the set piece goals for those two teams, both of them would have been relegated

Slob isn't bad either, I wonder if he's more of a threat in the play following a corner than Mac Allister

Arteta, with his wealth of talent, is pretty reliant on corners too. I think they're actually underachieving

That would be **** for us. I’d much rather play them now while they are still learning the Amorim system than later in the season when they may have their mojo back.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

It is right on the edge of the amber zone too, so fingers crossed it goes ahead.

That probably wouldn't be good, withe the Everton game postponed as well we could be racking up a few fixtures for later in the season.

The modern football calender has been built with zero consideration for rearranged fixtures.
