Way too early to judge any team. We’ll have more of an idea of where everyone falls in a couple of months.

Agree on City they don’t look the same in terms of quality but I still wouldn’t rule them out. The other side for them is also where is Pep at mentally. Is he off next season and has he decided to stay for one season too many to go for one last tittle.

Arsenal also should be best placed to have a good start. They’ve the most settled squad and had a full preseason compared to ours and cities changes and the other twos late and short preseason.

Citehs bench looked very impressive at the weekend.

This is the season of the elite number 9:

          City have Haaland
          Arsenal have Gyokeres
          We have Isak
          Chelsea have Delap
          United have Sesko

          Strikers are back baby
Can we reanimate Ian Rush? Is Robbie too old now?
          Really?

We’ve already got an 88th minute a 90+4 and a 90+10 min goals after 2 games this season. Elite mentality.

We need to sort it out at the back as we’ve scored 7, and can’t be relying on this sort of **** all season long as it’s no good for the health. I’m heavily leaning into the comfort blanket of last seasons league win when we keep chucking it away (and then snatching it back) but in each game you always fancy we are going to create a late chance. We keep going.

            2 utterly exhausting games.

And ****ing Arsenal and another set piece/long throws/falling over a lot exhibition to come.

I think we’ll see a different version of the usual Liverpool this season. Rather than coming out and looking good and struggling in the second half of the season the team will peak after new years but have enough pints in the first half of the season to be in the tittle race.

I’m sure this was one of the things along with the team management and injuries that was highlighted about Slot and his team, getting the team to peak at the right time of the season.

I know there are also things that need to be worked on structure wise especially with so many changes.

I’m not sure we’re else this would go but here.

[Pearce] Exclusive: Luiz Fernando Iubel joining Arne Slot's backroom staff as new individual development lead coach. Brazilian leaving role as No 2 at Atletico Mineiro and will start at #LFC on Sep 1. Aaron Briggs set to be confirmed as first-team set-piece coach.

I’ll add it in the Backroom Staff thread. Well spotted & here’s hoping we can improve our set pieces, but not at the expense of playing good football like Newcastle.

What would an individual development lead coach do exactly.

Analyse videos & point out where they can improve maybe? They need about 20 of them over at United

We have so far, Real at home and Inter away in the CL.
                          Never knowingly optimistic

Tough fixtures, Trent back to Anfield in first game is hilarious. Bet he's dreading it.

He willl have plenty of time on the bench to contemplate his choices
