Our first 3 games were ****ing hard when you see how Bournemouth took Spurs apart and given how physical they all are. 9 points from that while bedding in new players and being down a few in the squad in an excellent squad.

When you factor in the transfer business which on paper seems insanely good then being a Red right now is ****ing unbelievably positive

Yeah - I don’t think we’ve known a period like this definitely the biggest transfer window of the prem era for us.

We are also 4 points up on the corresponding fixtures from last year

It’s an exciting time to be a Red.

Bournemouth game is a bit like Forest last season when it looked like we’d lost our way but at that point nobody realised the force Forest would be. Hats off to Iraola he’s had his team plundered and they already look excellent.

I'm hoping to watch a Liverpool match from a pub in Kyoto. Hopefully there's some mad sake loving reds to watch with!

          It's a 3pm kick off so I think that's 11pm in Japan. What a season!

            Palace match?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                How does this squad look

                GK - Alison / Mamardashvili / Pesci

                RB - Bradley / Frimpong / Gomez
                LB - Kerkez / Robertson / Gomez
                CB - VVD / Konate / Guehi / Leoni / Gomez

                DM - Gravenberch / Endo / Alexis / Bajcetic
                CM - Alexis / Jones / Dom / Nyoni
                AM - Wirtz / Dom / Ekitike

                RW - Salah / Frimpong / Chiesa
                LW - Gakpo / Ekitike / Rio / Chiesa
                CF - Isak / Ekitike

Some serious depth especially in defence now.

I was apprehensive before the Arsenal game but he dealt so well with Martinelli that I think if he had a season or two to get used to the intricacies and nuances of the position he’d be a world class right back.

He could easily cover LW and RW as well. Play him anywhere Milner style.

I wonder if part of the reason we've had such a huge summer is because of Citeh's woes.

They've spent a lot of money but a lot of their signings have been lackluster to say the least. Pep is seemingly out of contract in the summer and there is a high chance that he'll be off.

This summer has essentially seen us setup the squad for the next 5 seasons. We're in a great position to pick up 3/4 titles in that time frame.

For Jürgen to challenge Citeh as closely as his great Liverpool teams did is remarkable given the gulf in resources. It was almost futile. The rest of the league almost certainly abandoned any notion of.them challenging Citeh during that period.

So I wonder if senior management have essentially been binding their time knowing that Citehs success wasn't sustainable. As soon as the signs were there that Citehs form was more than a blip the decision was made to go all out this summer and set us up to dominate (hopefully) for the foreseeable.

A summer like the one we've just had was always on the cards just a question of when

We had a big summer because …
                                Diaz wanted to go
                                We’d given up on Nunez
                                We tragically lost Jota
                                We had the psr headroom
The right players were available and we went for quality as we needed to replace the goals and assists of an ageing player before his body realises how old he is.

I don’t think City was a factor unless the owners think the EPL are actually going to punish them properly for their cheating.

Anyone else feel we are a little light in numbers in attack? If we have injuries during afcon there’s a risk people will be playing full 90 mins when we don’t want them to. We have Danns but anyone else?
