Jones pulls out of challenges in most games I've seen him play. Bit of a fanny imo and he's just average.

I think from a business/negotiation point of view those guys did well to get the big deals (Isak and Wirtz) done, not sure what happened with the Guehi deal, that felt like they were trying to be too smart and fell on their faces (perhaps underplaying the significance of the Palace role in that, but that's how it felt from an LFC perspective). The problem for me is the football knowledge behind the transfers that we did.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostPersonally, no. I have no faith in the way Slot is trying to play football or his man management, and ideally, nobody who had any part in last summer’s recruitment should be involved in dealings this summer. I don’t think a couple of transfers is going to get the fans back on board or change the lacklustre culture that seems to have developed in the squad, especially with Robbo and Salah leaving.
The sale of Diaz made sense from a business point of view, but from a football point of view it only worked if we brought in a replacement and we didn't. Wirtz as a #10 needs two solid midfielders behind him and we don't have that. IMO there is no point in spending massive money on who you consider to be the best #10 in the world only to play him out of position, if you are going to do that you'd have been better buying someone suited to the position you play him in. You can argue this was a long term project and going to take a couple of years but it needed to be done in a way that didn't **** this season over. Problem is I think very few people have confidence in the manager and the recruitment team getting it right this summer.
It feels a long way back to get the fans onside from where we are at the momentThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I looks like we brought him in to play as a #10 being the furthest forward in a midfield 3, with 3 forwards ahead of him and that is how we started the season, but many of us here (and elsewhere) were expressing concerns that that made our midfield look a little lightweight. That seemed obvious to everyone except seemingly the people in charge of recruitment. If we are going to make it work we need at least one proper #6 and presumably Gravenberch (seeing he signed a new contract) sitting alongside to give Wirtz the base to do his stuff.Originally posted by Charly View PostI thought Wirtz would be a firmino replacement, but then we bought 2 out and out strikers. It feels so random to me.
If there was a plan it has failed monumentally. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He tried to copy PSG while the PL is moving towards Stoke. It’s a bruising physical league of low blocks, set pieces and ****housery. Marking space and not pressing is not working at all in this league, and the lack of strength, pace and stamina, particularly in midfield, makes the whole team look like a bunch of old men. And squad wise, you need two players for every position and you need to keep them all fit and playing semi regularly, and that’s the opposite of slot’s philosophy. He is a classic technical Dutch manager and is just not suited to to the current premier league.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostHe tried to copy and paste PSG and failed miserably.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

If Slot genuinely thinks he can fix this and genuinely knows what is required in the summer then fair doos, I’m happy to give him another shot. The problem is we are seeing very little evidence to suggest this is the case. I’m not saying we should have won the league. The problem for me is that basics are all wrong, LFC should always be about hard work and humility as a staple. Both have gone awol.

I'm ****ing not!! We need a new manager who can motivate and inspire the squad and build back our levels of intensity.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostIf Slot genuinely thinks he can fix this and genuinely knows what is required in the summer then fair doos, I’m happy to give him another shot. Yep 100%. I’m worried we’ll start losing our promising youth players if this muppet stays much longer.Originally posted by Cerbie View PostI'm ****ing not!! The vast majority of our so called promising youth players never make it with us. Is nothing new and is the same under pretty much every LFC manager.
There is always a list of young players that we make out to be nailed on stars of the near future for us that then just leave and usually don't go on to be much elsewhere either.
Pacheco, Suso, the Gems, Wisdom, Ibe, Elliot and so on. The list is a long one and the only ones that do break into our first team and become proper starters tend to be the ones that are genuinely top class and too good tonot make it.
We are not a club that can gamble on giving too many minutes to so called promising young players unless those players are already at the standard of senior players. Different for clubs in lower divisions/leagues or clubs that tend to stay in the midtable or lower season in season on.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
