I think Agger would be a good stop gap for this role, he's good on the ball, obviously he's a top class defender and, as well know, if he gets a chance to go forward - can pack a top class shot...

I'm not saying it'll be a long term solution, but may be worth a punt?
I think you've answered your own question mate.

Seriously, suggestions of Agger playing in central midfield are just as bad as suggestions of Johnson playing right midfield. Possibly worse.

Sounds like a genuine guy with genuine love the club and it's fans. I hope he sees out his career with us. He is so strong mentally, and so positive that I have the utmost confidence in him returning strong from this injury.
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

We'll play Spearing and rightly so, we shouldn't undermine his confidence with playing other players out of position.

I didn't rate Spearing at first but that's probably because I hadn't seen enough of him. I remember when he played against Sunderland at the start of the year and he was brilliant - he hasn't let the team down since and I have no fear about seeing his name on the teamsheet.

Not saying that I think he'll be as good as Lucas, but he's (hopefully) going to get a run of games over the next month where he can show us what he's all about.

No doubt Lee - Spearing, of course, is the preferable option for midfield...

All i was trying to say was, Agger is a good enough footballer to adapt to this role in the short term. By the short term, i mean the last 10-15 minutes of a match...

BTW - I remember being in the Kop to see wee Jay playing against Citeh last season at Anfield (the game where Andy got two) and he bossed Toure. He'll do ok in there in Lucas' absence

                Haha ****ing hell

I can't get my head around people not rating him but that's fair enough, each to their own. What I won't ever accept is people (Reds) abusing him/taking the piss or whatever. I mean it when I say if my lad grows up wanting a footballer as a role model (in 5 years my boy will be nearly 8 and Lucas still just 29), I'd point him in Lucas's direction. Just an inspirational attitude and a fantastic bloke for every kid to look up to.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I can understand even taking the piss from time to time in the forum, but yes, there's a difference between "rating" someone and "liking" someone. I don't think anyone can really dislike someone like Lucas.

Thing is mate I can see where the calls for Agger to play in the middle and Johnson to play on the right come from. But they're both top class defenders and they've played in defence for ten years for a reason.

Plus by taking one or both of them out of the back four would seriously impact our defence.

Spearing will be fine for a month buddy.

Am I right in thinking he doesn't have a song yet? If so, his time out should be used to find one, coz he ****ing deserves it.
