Didn't Keane, Van Nistelrooy, Shearer and a few others have this injury and fully recover?Originally posted by BigChief View PostYeah, agree with you Daffy. No one wants to talk about the elephant in the room so I will: I think that's the end of Lucas' career at the top level. I really hope I am totally wrong though.
Someone mentioned Skrtel had ACL and came back from it. Is this true or was it a lesser injury? Encouraging if he did recover from a similar ACL.

A quick google suggests that Skrtel injured his PCL. While Skrtel does seem back to his best now, it has taken him a while to get there. Who knows if the cause of the delay was psychological, physical, a combination of the two, or some other reason(s), but a such serious injury must have a psychological impact, even if the player fully recovers physically.Originally posted by BigChief View PostYeah, agree with you Daffy. The 24-year-old has been inundated with messages of goodwill on Twitter and he responded in kind.
"Just to confirm that I will be out until the rest of season," he wrote. "I am really sad with the news because I was enjoying [it] a lot on the pitch.
"I am sure I will come back stronger and I will achieve everything that I dream with the LFC shirt. I am sure I'll never walk alone."

How long would somebody of Aurelio's brittleness last in midfield? The midfielders we've already got are better bets than any defenders.Originally posted by acdmackay View PostWhat about Aurelio? Seen him mentioned by another poster as a possible stand in for Lucas and I'm pretty sure I recall him having a blinder of a game at DM for us before.

What's for sure, is it's a terrible injury for a footballer. A clean break is even preferred.
If he's having an operation, it will be an ACL reconstruction. No coming back early from them as you need to give the graft time to strengthen enough to do its job. I would be very surprised if he played again this season.
Gutted for Lucas and wishing him as speedy and uncomplicated recovery as possible. YNWA pal.

I used to have a friend that argued he was better than Alonso.
I miss that friend though.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Do you know what, I felt an injury like this was coming you know considering the way he flies into tackles.
Have had a bad feeling for a while that something was going to happen to him, it was inevitable.
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't swap him for anyone but it was only a matter of time.
