I think he's a pretty good player actually.

I'd worry about a Adam/Huddlestone pairing though - that would be slooooooooooooooooow.

      Poor Lucas.

Just as he was on the cusp of getting some well deserved recognition.

Totally gutted for the lad. He's a fighter though, he'll be back.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He isnt a bad player, I was taking the piss. However, I dont think he's good enough for us.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Lucas has shown to be mentally strong over the years, I just hope he comes back with the level of confidence that he's had over the last year or so.
I think we need to prepare for the worst, it could be upto a year before we see Lucas back and Gerrards situation isn't any clearer. We need a top class CM and a striker, some on here think FSG aren't afraid to spend money so we'll see...

I don't give a **** about that League Cup now, I'd rather we had lost 5-0 than lose Lucas for the rest of the season. I just hope he'll be okay afterwards, there are too many Essiens, Hargreaves' and Sissokos to suggest otherwise.

This injury could cost us dearly, but it could have happened at any time in any game.

that's a little simplistic, especially for january. i think it's more important for our business that our targets are available. you can have all the money in the world, but if the 2 or 3 guys you want who are as good as or better than what you already have don't want to move, then you're ****ed.

Yeah I know that, it wasn't actually due to fixture congestion, but you know... Captain Hindsight, if he hadn't played this wouldn't have happened blabla I'm just devastated by this news.

Yeah, agree with you Daffy. No one wants to talk about the elephant in the room so I will: I think that's the end of Lucas' career at the top level. I really hope I am totally wrong though.

Someone mentioned Skrtel had ACL and came back from it. Is this true or was it a lesser injury? Encouraging if he did recover from a similar ACL.
                      One tit for another.

He is also not close to being good enough defensively either.

I think we need better, but he has grown on me this season! he has been steady away and very consistent! one of those players that we dont realise how good he is for us until he isn't there! hope it doesn't affect us too much! good chance for spearing to get some more game time!

Lads, no-one knows the extent of the injury on here so there's no point saying his career is over. They say he has damaged his ACL, but it doesnt have to be a career ending devastating injury, could just be that with an operation and rehabilitation he is unlikely to play again this season.

He will be back, with the right care and timetable. And, I have a hunch he will play before the season is over....he seems like a quick healer type. Betcha

We've done some of our best business in January, this myth about January being a bad time to buy is just that, a myth. If our top targets decide they don't want to move for a couple of years or want go elsewhere, are we just going to give up?
