I have confidence in Spearing seeing us through until January. But he's still not as defensive as Lucas. We're going to need a new 'destroyer' now.

    It's a massive blow.

So it is ACL. Will he ever return to this level? A season out then half a season to try to steal game time. Looks like he won't be back in this form for at least 1 to 1.5 years.

Maybe a player in Jan now doesn't seem like a bad idea. He'll need half the season and the summer to settle in with us.
      One tit for another.

Huge blow - its his first major injury for us, therefore I'd be tempted to bring someone in on loan rather than buy.

I think a loan would be best as it'd leave money aside for another forward. I liked the idea of Mascherano until I woke up.

Lucas has shown to be mentally strong over the years, I just hope he comes back with the level of confidence that he's had over the last year or so.

As a plus Lucas doesn't rely on blistering pace so hopefully the injury wont affect his game too much if the operation is a success.

A mate of mine just texted that we are after Huddlestone as a replacement...

Not exactly mobile like Lucas though is he? Actually I think Huddlestone is ****e - not good enough for Spurs well he ain't good enough for us.

Weren't we linked with him in the summer?

He's a different player than Lucas and isn't good enough for us.

Spearing's a better defensive tiger than Huddlebunny.

You guys are underrating Huddlestone here, just cause he doesn't get games ahead of Parker,Modric and Van Der Vaart doesnt mean hes ****

Devastating news, horrible injury for him. Skrtel came back from a similar injury so we need to think positive.

He will be sorely missed, awful news.

Devastating news for us and obviously Lucas himself. Really hope he can come back as good as before. Surgeons can perform wonders these days but look at Essien at Chelsea - hardly played in two years and his was a similar injury, no?

Just as we were starting to look like a really really good side as well. Think Jay can step in to a certain extent and i actually rate him pretty highly but it does leave us a bit short if anything happens to him.

Anyone know how Gerrard's recovery is going?

                                True, it's the fact he's **** that means he's ****.
