I think you're being unfair on John Doe. Busquets and Alonso are better defensive midfielders than Lucas IMO in my opinion.

That he isn't one of the two best players in his position in the world is a damning indictment in itself. Not good enough. Sell.

Just following on from Arn's point as I remember when we signed Lucas he was a box-to-box midfielder. We know he's brilliant defensively but I would like to see him play as an attacking midfielder. Just once would do.

He played further forward against Benfica in Rafa's last season, scoring a nice goal and was probably MOTM. Channel 5 were creaming themselves over that performance, but obviously used it as a stick to beat Rafa with for not playing him there every game.

The whole episode was extremely interesting. You should keep an eye out for a repeat although it would be quite old now and he has continued to improve massivly.

I've really completely forgotten about it. The only thing I remember from Europe that season was the Fiorentina games, and the belter that Babel scored. Depressing.
