I agree with need better for a regular starter, but I think he can do the job now that Lucas is out, and I actually have confidence in him growing with the task. He has never really gotten the chance for a good run of games, so he might have more in him.

That said we are in serious trouble if he should injured as well, so we could use a loan option in January.

I think Jay is good option and we will have to rely on him until January no matter what.

It will be a good test for him but personally beyond January I'd keep and use him as we did before Lucas injury.

I think he deserves a chance. I've read numerous posts claiming that no one can tackle as good as Lucas and we can't rely on anyone else, but the same was said about Lucas too a year or two ago.

I don't think Jay (or anyone we can buy) is as good as Lucas, but I also don't think he'll let us down either.
