Thanjk you.

not really lucas's fault that other players became more invisible as the game went on.
This.
There was some rubbish talked about Lucas yesterday, and while he didn't have his best game, which I'm sure he'd admit, he was getting absolutely no help yesterday in the second half....none.
At one point,he was the one to challenge in the air for the ball, which dropped to a Villa player, which he tried to challenge for, missed out, which led to the ball breaking to two other Villa players surrounding the play.....blah, blah, blah led to Lucas having to commit the foul in our own half.
All the while, there was no other Liverpool player to be seen.
Rubbish support in midfield for a large portion of that second half. He was tiring as well which led to some silly errors, but midfield has to be a team effort, otherwise these errors are more likely to happen.
Our control just disappeared at HT, and it was not just down to a revitalised Villa.

I thought Lucas was super yesterday with his workrate and general play but he needs to be careful with giving away free kicks .....I think this is where the frustration kicks in with people.
To be fair to him he makes the most tackles in most games so the law of averages suggests that inevitably he will give away more free kicks then other players.
We need to accept this as part of his game but also appreciate how well he does the simple things that invariably for unnoticed.

I think it's more the fouls conceded in dangerous areas that frustrates people.
Having said that I think he could do with some help in the middle of the park, and I don't see why bringing another tenacious midfielder would hinder our progress. It's clear to see that Gerrard is playing a deeper role now, with Henderson providing the legs in midfield, but I think someone like Diame could provide the legs whilst also providing cover.
I'm not suggesting Diame is the answer, just we need a player of that mould.
I don't think I've made any predictions this year, but if I did I'd have gotten the nil part right both times.
2-0 against United. Coutinho, Sturridge.
Edit: I actually predicted 3-1 yesterday.
No not saying you did.
Surprised you hadn't commented on this one that's in the post match thread .
Lucas - 6 - Careless on the ball at times and not quite as imposing as I'd like him to be, Lucas was disappointing in his second match of the year. Villa's counter attack is a big ask for a defensive midfielder but Lucas must be better next weekend against United
.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

What is there to comment on?

And excluding his possession stats, he had the most tackles, the second most interceptions, kept a clean sheet and restricted a free scoring Villa side to only 3 shots on target.
How can you say the player with the most touches, most successful passes, most tackles, second highest interceptions, that the game passed them by?
Not to mention that it was Lucas that won possession back off Villa that led to the goal.
Fact
What more can I say? I thought he had a good game, the stats say he had good game, he kept a clean sheet and assisted in the winner, if he plays like that against United then we'll win.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
I think it's more the fouls conceded in dangerous areas that frustrates people.

Its funny i almost wrote that in my original post but then i though he actually doesn't concede that many freekicks that give the opposition a shooting chance on goal.
I wouldn't like to see someone like Diame come in personally as Henderson and Gerrard give us more creatively.
What difference would Diame have made on Saturday? i think our midfield where excellent.
The worst player for me was Coutinho, he gave away possession cheaply and couldn't hold onto the ball nut people always remember the pieces of sublime skill he produced periodically.
my real issue was that lucas did have a good game but looked to be fading badly by the end and getting out muscled and dwelling on the ball--and there was nobody on the bench but joey joe joe. notice that he didn't replace lucas when he came on. we don't really have anyone to bring on in that situation.
Posters seem to be basing their opinion on Lucas' performance on the two occasions he lost possession. The stats back up that he had a good game.

lucas will be cooked before we even get half way through this season at this rate. we need a strong DM who can either cover for him or play along side to see out the latter part of games such as the villa match.
we saw that coutinho wasnt for coming back, and its not really his game to be fair. he was swapped for allen and he didnt really drop back to assist. henderson was semi-invisible towards the end too...
we ended up with sturridge coming back to defend. good to see it from him, but glaringly obvious that we wont get away with this very often.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I never said he didn't have a good game, I've just noticed that he tends to give away fouls in areas 30-35 yards out, usually in wide areas where teams can put a decent cross in.
As you, and every liverpool fan knows, we tend not to cope too well from set pieces.
I love lucas, and I used Diame as an example of a tenacious midfielder with legs to attack, would you rather me of used Ramires as an example. Who FWIW I don't believe to be as good defensively as Diame.
All I'm saying is he needs help which he's not going to get from the likes of Joe Allen, or to an extent Gerrard and Henderson.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
