Amazing - I never posted anything bad about Lucas . But I wasn't a fan of his. My opinion of him changed when Masch effed off - that's when he really stepped up.

He was good in masch's last season too tbf, people just let there perception and him not being Xabi get in the way

The problem was that the team was unbalanced and ineffective, with the Mascherano-Lucas midfield axis at least part of the problem. A bit like Allen last season - Lucas put in good performances in a team that weren't able to take advantage of them so people under rated him. Unlike Allen so far he got to go on and be part of the solution.

I disagree,Lucas has got balls back for and started counter attacks from there,on the other side Allen started well last season but after everything started going downhill for him and now his lost his place in the team

I think we are probably talking cross purposes. I certainly don't know what assertion you are disagreeing with there, I suspect my post was unclear.

My point about Allen was merely that many people now seem to think that he is a poor player despite/because of good performances when the team was doing less well. Lucas gets credit now because of the fact he has shown his worth in teams that are performing better (under both Dalglish and Rodgers). I think Allen will show his worth in the long run.

I've always been a fan of Lucas and he's matured into a really excellent player.

Allen stood out cos the rest of the team started the season so badly & he was still on a high after a good season with Swansea. Now his true level is being shown that he is not good enough for LFC. Nothing against him personally, just not good enough. He won't be here next season imo - a total waste of 15 million pounds. Especially when we had plenty of CM's at the time & other areas needed strengthening more than CM...

Have to agree tbh, BUT Lucas and Henderson have shown us that maybe with some patience and perseverance we can still make a player out of him.

he struggled when he first joined, rash challenges and change in style and role but he really worked at it and has become one of the best in his position.

A lot of footballers could take a leaf from him

There was a time when he was only young and played similar football to Joe Allen until he cut his hair and then everything changed haha LOL
